Having had slipped discs many decades ago I know how painful life can be living with chronic back pain. But this doesnt need to be our story. I'll be hosting a 2 hr workshop at The Yoga Barn - Bali this Friday to share in my experience.

Learn how to incorporate intelligent movements into your practice that will offer some of the most effective treatments for back pain. We'll also discuss healing foods and regenerative herbs that build bones, ligaments and muscles.
A healthy spine is a healthy life!

Yogi’s and non-yogi’s are welcome.

Next in the health series I'll be doing a talk on my favourite topic Gut Microbiome

Having had digestive issues for as long as I can remember, Gut health is my passion focus. I will also share from my personal experiences of the things that worked for me, and what can be some of the leading causes. Stress does play a big part in it, but it's not the only problem.

We'll also discuss some bogus science around anti-acids, and probiotics...and so much more.
It's an ongoing conversation - come join next Tuesday. You'll need to sign up for the link!

Here are 3 really great juices that move the lymphatic system (the first one is my all time favourite)

🥤3 lemons + 5cm ginger root + 250g+ Black grapes

🍹2 grapefruit + 1 lemon + 5 celery sticks + 2 apples + 5cm ginger + parsley bunch + ½ cup burdock root

🧃7 celery sticks + 1 lemon + 1 apple + ½ beetroot

Juice all ingredients, or use a blender and strain.

You’ll start seeing a common thread when you look at the ingredients, so be creative if you don’t have all the ingredients to make the exact recipes.

Poor lymph circulation underlies all health conditions from poor skin to cancers. So let’s get the lymphatic system moving! Dry skin brushing, sauna’s, work on kidney filtration, eat more fruits and vegetables, and drinking plenty of living water.

Thanks everyone who has already signed up to the next online detox gathering starting 11 July.

Let me know what your goals are for our time together, and what shifts you’re aiming on doing leading up to the event.

Join the detox collective if you haven’t signed up yet! Details in the bio.

Hydration, a key component to staying alive. Water, the element of time keeping holds the ancient records of time itself. Keeping fluid, mind body spirit to be more in the flow.

For our skin to feel hydrated and our organs & colon to work properly then enough water needs to satiate the needs of all the tiny cells and electric function of the body first. It always works from the meniscal to the dense.

I’m understanding more and more about generational dehydration through my own exploration of hydrating with ample living water. It's been a game changer.

Plain water comes alive when it’s infused with something living otherwise it just goes through. I’ve experienced drinking lots of water and then peeing it out, and then not drinking enough as it becomes a nuisance doing so many toilet visits.

Not with living water. Drink 4 litres and do the most minimal toilet runs? That’s how we know it’s going deeper into the instastitial cells, soaking in by the hardened debris, rehydrating the dried areas and allowing the skin to be plumped up from the inside out.

Lemon and ginger juice with honey (or raisons) in a large 1 litre glass on waking up, is the best morning routine you could adjust to.

The liver thrives on glucose elements and the function of the ginger works synergistically to kill pathogens. Whilst the lemon hydrates, alkalizes, flushes and emulsifies mucus. This is the elixir to life, its so simple. I’ve been repeating this throughout the day and feel so much more connected to the signals for what creates thirst.

Infuse water with fresh or dried herbs, leaving overnight or in the sun. You get the medicinal benefits and it’s magically transformed into living water. This counts. Or putting sliced fruit or veggies work.

Boiled water doesn’t hydrate, so teas don’t count :(

Cooking food dehydrates but fresh fruit and veggies count. Juices & coconuts do too!

Join me on a hydration challenge and see how it plays out for you. Even if it’s just adding the extra-large lemon honey ginger water to start the day...
Or continue by following up with a juice, then a smoothie, more fresh fruits and veggies...step by step towards proper hydration.

The harvest of red rce is happening again, the bushels created lay to dry in the sun. Rather than beating the rice into a basket they harverst each individual sprig and then create these cute bundles instead.

The most important organs to address during a detox: The Kidneys, Liver, the Lymphatic System and the Colon!

Whilst detoxing will trigger an automatic cleansing response in all organs, it’s these ones that get the most overburdened from the daily grind. If you’ve got a health issue this is where you need to focus:

Cleanse the colon to allow old matter to release. Stop consuming fats to allow the liver to process deep seeded toxins. Add kidney herbs for a diuretic effect to drain excess water retention and reduce proteins so the lymphatic system can clean up the accumulated acids.

All of these organs work in a cohesive way. Focusing on them together using herbs and a cleansing diet will help you stay ahead of the game.

Many people won't do Yoga because they’ll say ‘I'm not flexible’ or ‘I don’t know how to’ or ‘It looks too difficult’ and seems out of reach.

But that’s just the limitations of the mind. Maybe there’s shyness around not wanting to be seen as a beginner, to find things difficult next to someone who might have more ease. Different reasons. Its amazing the stories we can create to protect ourselves from being (and looking) uncomfortable :)

Many Yoga photos depict tricks and advance poses that won't be accessible to most of us.

But our aim is not that, showing up is enough. And to move, to be present to each transition, to soften rather than tense up. The practice is an invitation to start feeling what it is that is inside us, what we feel.

Whether it’s a powerful vinyasa class or a gentle yin practice we bring the same peaceful elements into the practice.

Yoga can help improve your life because it gets you to move. You move your spine, you move your limbs, and you get motion through each joint complex. You create different shapes with your body where you otherwise would never get into in your average day.

But most importantly you get to move energy and information throughout your whole body from head to toe, energy which otherwise is not accessible to the organs and meridians.

The origins of Yoga was to prepare the body and the nervous system to sit for long durations of time in stillness, to prepare the body for meditation.
Yoga is a science > Practice…. all is coming. 😊

But we need to start, and if we’ve let our practice slip, we have to gently nudge ourselves back into it. . ✨

If you're talking about their category, no. There are acidic, sub acidic, sweet, non sweet etc.

Fruit - all of them can be subdivided into a category.

Lemons and oranges are acidic on the outside, but once they are digested through an enzymatic chemical process they create an alkaline reaction to the blood.

Meat or a glass of milk isn't acidic on the outside (it doesn't start melting metal utensils), however the reaction (cause & effect) is acidic on the blood.

When food is digested it leaves an acid 'ash' in the body and this is what is measured as its acid/alkaline effect.

Many alkaline/acid food charts are used for food combining reasons.
👉🏼This is a topic which I usually go more in depth on the 7 days detox programs.
