When Kak Rebeca joined Travel & Teach: Maluku, she was looking for a unique adventure. What she found was a deep connection to the history, the people, and the incredible nature of the Banda Islands.

From snorkeling in crystal-clear waters to being inspired by the resilience of the local community, Rebecca’s experience is a testament to why we do what we do: Travel is better when it has a purpose.

No degree? No problem. Your hobbies are your teaching tools.

“Do I need a teaching certificate?” The honest answer is no. We aren’t looking for lecturers; we’re looking for connection.

In Banda Neira, a game of catch or a shared drawing is more impactful than any textbook.

Why you’re a perfect fit:
✅ You speak English: Even basic conversation is a huge help.
✅ You have a hobby: Photography, sports, or art it’s all a lesson.
✅ You have heart:Your energy is what the children thrive on.

We provide the materials and the structure. You provide the inspiration.

Ready to make an impact this April 2026 and meet with kids from ?

Not every journey is about going far. Sometimes it’s about slowing down and really being there.

When Vega .kumala joined Travel & Teach, she wasn’t looking to tick off destinations. She wanted to experience Maluku in a more honest way by spending time with people, listening to their stories, and learning from everyday moments. Those small interactions, shared meals, conversations, and time with the community stayed with her long after she came home.

If you’ve ever wanted to travel in a way that feels slower, more meaningful, and grounded in real connection, Travel and Teach Banda Neira in April 2026 might be that space for you.

If this story stayed with you, maybe this journey will too.
