FREE eye test & prescription glasses for all students!
A few days ago, and Maison Mata carried out an eye-health charity program at SDN 3 Pedungan, Denpasar – funded by Lichtblicke in der Welt, an NGO from Germany focused on eye care and education, and supported by Zeiss, Hoya, Acuvue, and Johnson & Johnson.
This was the first eye test ever conducted in the school. And the results shocked everyone — teachers, parents, and us.
Out of 303 students, 140 kids (46.2%) had vision problems. Some were extremely severe, with high minus up to -6 and strong astigmatism. These kids have quietly struggled for years in their learning process.
A consultation has been given to their parents. And to help protect their eyes from screen exposure, we also provided blue-light protection lenses.
Our hope is to continue this every year — because no child should be left behind just because they cannot see.
