Want your practice to be the top-listed Clinic?
How did i get here?....
I went looking for a yoga class to attend around twenty years ago. I was working in a busy job as a Mental Heatlh Nurse which I felt emotionally and psychologically and I was looking for a way of ‘switching off’ from my day job. It was quite hard to find a class all those years ago, my first teacher was 74 years old and inspirational, she taught in a community centre, she really believed yoga was for everybody. I noticed how I felt more relaxed after a class and how my sleep improved.
Yoga has been with me since then in one capacity or another and at varying levels of frequency. I became interested in teaching many years ago however the time wasn’t right. I was always completing training in my main profession and ended up training as a psychotherapist delivering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy within the NHS.
After some life events I made the decision to undertake my 200hr teacher training which I completed in January 2019. I trained with Evolve Yoga Training in Manchester under the guidance of Vicki Shields (who is a direct student of Sri OP Tiwari and also remains under the guidance of Paul Dallaghan), Donna Southwell (Mysore lineage level 2 authorisation from KPJAYI) , David Tilston (coach in movement, callisthenics, martial arts, yoga and anatomy ) and Kate Arthurs (sharing her knowledge of Samkhya philosophy and Ayurveda).
Yoga has helped to keep me steady and has given me support in challenging times. It has also improved my relationship with myself and how I relate to others, as well as a whole host of other health benefits which are well documented in the ever growing research.
