🌀Mostly we feel our back when it hurts us.
Lower back aches. Stiff neck. Tight mid back.
The acute reaction is fear and stress.
⏮️Let's rewind this scenario...
▶️Have you ever really acknowledged your back body?
A big part of our lungs reaches into the back body.
So take a deep breath, and feel the expansion of your lungs from your mid back all the way underneath your shoulder blades. Nurture your cells with new oxygen.
▶️When leaning back into a cushion, into the arms of a beloved one, we feel safe and trusted. This is the emotional response of our back, when we soften into it.
So lean back and bring your awareness into your spine, especially around your kidney area - this is where the seat of life, trust and security resides.
▶️Nowadays we are so busy in our frontal lobe, overthinking and overdoing.
The front of our brain brings nerval stimuli into action.
The back of our brain, our brain stem receives nerval stimuli.
So, the moment we focus on the back of our brain, we are able to receive, to feel, to sense.
So whenever you try the exercises from above, try to switch of your thinking brain ("I want to feel the lung") and really receive and sense the movement and location of your lung.
Have fun with these explorations.
Be gentle with yourself.
And let it all in. Let it all out.
