3months in 🦧

I've been quiet on here lately simply because we've been so busy in the playroom🦄🦧

I've been blessed with all the amazing children who have entered my playspace in this very short time,

Blessed that their parents & caregivers have trusted me to support them on their therapeutic journey,

Blessed with the continued support and guidance of fellow play therapists and peers,

Blessed to know that the playroom is where I am meant to be.

Most of all, I feel so lucky & privileged that I get to be the lucky one, who witnesses a child heal through the therapeutic powers of Play.

Our service is pretty full currently, but please reach out and we can allocate space to our waiting list.

Happy Easter to all our Little friends and their parents. Myself and Freddie found a few eggs left in the playroom

Make your Easter fun, connect with each other, be silly, get outdoors, build a fort inside if the weather isn't great, paint, play challenge games as a family....don't over complicate holidays.

Children love spending time at home and with their loved ones.
Most of all create memories for your childs childhood memory box.

The Wobble Board or Balance board

One the most used pieces of equipment in Little Roots Play Room.

Not only do the kids love it, but I also love it.

I often find myself on the wobble board in between sessions to calm and regulate my nervous system.

The wobble board also:

Improves gross motor skills

Promotes sensory input

Supports children to develop their subconscious ability to sense their body position and joint movement, also known as proprioception.

Improves balance and stability by helping children develop their spatial awareness and sense of balance by stimulating their vestibular system.

It also makes a great seat for some🤣🤫

The joy it brought to see the sun shine through the windows of littlerootsplaytherapy today.

The joy I feel when I meet a new child and delight in all they are.

The joy of the small wins and glimmers in play sessions.

The joy of meeting, supporting, and guiding parents on this journey.

The joy in finally having my own Play Therapy space.

The joy and privilege I feel to be able to share this space with those who need it.

Today, I felt joy, and I will ALWAYS welcome Joy. 🙏

Anger is not all good. Not all bad🌈🔥

Anger needs a co regulator to restore calm🫂

Anger can be the face of many hidden emotions🎭

Anger is just another emotion that comes and goes

Anger can be a childs way of coping when really hard things have happened and their body has adapted to go into fight mode.🥊

Anger is emotionally, physically, and mentally draining on the body.

An emotion that can show up in many different shapes, forms, and behaviours🐆🐑💥💣

An emotion that has got a child through some hard situations🦄

An emotion that has grown out of hard situations⚠️

An emotion so silent it cannot be physically seen😶‍🌫️

An emotion that can be like an internal volcano for a child🌋
