Are you longing to rest?

As the Celtic year turns at Samhain, we cross the threshold into Geimhreadh, Winter, a season of rest, reflection, and quiet renewal.

In this gentle candlelit retreat, you’re invited to tread softly into the dark: to slow the breath, soften the body, and listen inward.

The evening weaves together Yin, Restorative Yoga, and Yoga Nidra, held in stillness and candlelight. Between moments of rest, Abaigéal will share poetry, written in honour of the season — words to hold the heart through the darker months.

Come as you are.
Rest deeply.
Remember that darkness, too, is a place of nourishment.

JG is back for a Gentle Evening of Sound, Rest and Reflection.

🕯 Sunday, November 2
📍 Dragonfly Yoga Studio, Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo

As we move deeper into the quiet season, this Sound Bath offers a peaceful space to pause, rest, and gently reflect.

Guided by JG Murphy, the evening will weave soothing sounds and vibrations to help settle the body and calm the mind.

Taking place on All Souls Day, this gathering offers a moment to honour the threads of connection — to those who came before us, to those we love, and to the stillness within. Inspired by Celtic traditions, we recognise this time of year as a turning inward, a softening before winter’s dark descent.

You are invited to simply rest, listen, and be held by sound — a quiet evening to restore and reconnect.

Limited spaces so advance booking is essential.

Cushions and blankets will be provided for your comfort.

🎃 Spooktacular Family Afternoon 🎃

I'm so thankful that I was able to contribute time towards this fundraiser and create this poster for a such a worthy cause. Again, merging our Celtic traditions with kindness & generosity.

Our local & are running this fundraiser this year. Please spread the word near and far.

This Halloween Bank Holiday Monday we'd like to invite all children aged 0–5 years (and their families!) to join us for a spooktacular fancy-dress afternoon filled with music, dance, crafts, and storytelling.

✨ The afternoon will finish with a special screening of the much-loved short film Room on the Broom, perfect for the little ones.

👻 Fancy dress is optional and can be of any theme – it doesn’t have to be spooky!

This event is a fundraiser in aid of families in Gaza.
All proceeds will be split between Salma Alsharqawi's GoFundMe (supporting her family in Gaza) and The TEA Collective, who are also providing vital aid to families there.

Organised in association with the Ballyhaunis Parent & Toddler Group, with special thanks to the Ballyhaunis Community Council for kindly providing their hall for this event.

💶 Suggested donation at the door:

€10 per family

If you’d like to give more, additional donations can be made at the door or directly via Salma’s GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/1162003a

☕ Snacks and treats will be provided, along with tea and coffee for parents/guardians.

🧡 While the event is geared towards little ones (0–5 years), older siblings are very welcome to come along and join in the fun!

🙏 Local businesses or volunteers who would like to contribute are warmly welcome.

We can’t wait to see you all there for an afternoon of fun, community, and kindness!

Last week, I had the privilege of featuring on the Family Flowers Only podcast, where I spoke with Kathie Stritch about my experience of loss and grief (Grief Ireland). It wasn't an easy conversation, and I debated sharing it on my yoga profile page but I realised it’s so important to share as yoga has been such an integral part of my own journey through loss.

I didn't get to talk much about how Yoga has helped me navigate grief so wanted to share some insights here.

As many of you know, I lost both my parents relatively young. I first stumbled upon yoga in college and it went on to help me through heartbreaking loss. Yoga didn’t “fix” anything. It couldn’t. But what it did offer me was something invaluable: space. Space to breathe when it felt impossible, space to feel safely, and eventually, space to heal in small, gentle ways.
