People mistake upright and tense for good posture. This is my daughter accompanying me on a posture journey to Germany. On the left, she is sitting relaxed and slouched into herself. On the right she is upright and relaxed. This requires a well-positioned pelvis—or a pelvis that is tipped or anteverted so that the front of the pelvis is lower than the back and the vertebral column can stack easily on top of that; and is indeed different to being upright and tense.
