Since Covid a few years ago, I no longer sit and watch the news. I switch the radio channel the moment headlines begin. Not because I do not care. Quite the opposite. I care deeply. And I can feel how quickly the energy in my body shifts when I absorb too much of it.
You might have felt it too.
The heaviness.
The tight chest.
The worry about what will happen next.
When big events unfold in the world, many of us go into a kind of collective shock. In homeopathy, we think of Aconite in moments of sudden fear or shock. That sharp, panicky feeling that something terrible could happen.
Then there is the deeper worry. The restless anxiety at night. The thoughts about health, safety, the future. That is where Arsenicum album often comes to mind. The mind that keeps scanning for danger.

But here is something I keep asking myself.
Does my worry change the outcome for those affected?
Does my anxiety help the families in the middle of it?
No.
It changes my nervous system.
It changes my sleep.
It changes my health.
Caring does not have to mean absorbing fear.
One of the most powerful things we can do is simple. Light a candle. Sit quietly. Send intention, prayer, positive thoughts toward those who are suffering. Even if your rational mind doubts it, intention has power. Focus has power. Calm has power.
And then gently ask yourself:
What can I actually do?
Can I donate.
Can I check on a neighbour.
Can I choose to be softer with my own family today.
We cannot control the whole world.
But we can choose what we amplify inside our own body.
Protect your nervous system.
Choose conscious input.
Send light instead of fear.
And if you feel shaken, anxious or overwhelmed, support is there🩵
