Julefrid- one of my favourite words in Swedish. It means Christmas peace. But more so it’s a feeling, that feeling of complete peace, calm and joy. I have some of those feelings on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but it’s really on St. Stephen’s day that I feel the real julefrid. When I get to start the morning on the sofa for the first time in.. I can’t even remember. The fire is lit, the tree is looking more beautiful than ever, I have those Christmas magazines I didn’t get to read. The fridge is filled with leftovers that will last for days. I wonder if I’ll have a turkey or a meatball sandwich today. Probably both. My youngest child is finally starting to feel better after 10 difficult day. The mother smiles, she knows that the julefrid has come to stay✨
And she really hopes you feel the same❤️

I did it! After the busiest weeks I’ve ever experienced, my work is now complete. For the past week I’ve gone over my orders over and over again so worried I would forget something. And I’m not sure if I took on a little too much or that I’m so sleep deprived from having a sick child, but I did make a couple of little mistakes. Luckily everything got sorted in the end, thank you for your patience🙏🏻 And thank you so much to everyone who’ve ordered from me❤️
Now this baker will take a well needed break and start her Christmas celebrations. She will enjoy spending time with her family, eating lots of yummy food and to finally get some time to sit on the sofa and look at the Christmas tree✨

Fourth of advent🌟 and also the winter solstice, the shortest day of all year.
Many people are already looking forward to the brighter days. Personally I really like the midwinter. I don’t mind the darkness so much. I suppose it’s easy to cope with it when each window is lit up with a star you have a whole drawer filled with candles. Candles that are lit for each mealtime.
And there’s something so loving and forgiving about this season. Like that kind person, could be a partner, a parent or a friend, who covers you with a blanket when you fall a sleep on the sofa, gently strokes you on the cheek and whispers “shh, it’s ok just keep sleeping. It looks like you need a rest.” ❤️

Swedish gingerbread biscuits🤎 thin, crispy and filled with flavour. Rolling the dough as thin as possible and in my mind I hear my mother’s voice “the dough needs to be thin as a leaf!”Choosing which cookie cutters to use. I tend to go for angels and hearts.

Morning! Before I get completely booked up for Christmas, I just wanted to show the other 2 desserts on my Christmas menu.
The first one is a Merry Christmas chocolate biscuit cake🤎 topped with fudge icing, biscuit crumbs and sprinkles✨
The second one is a no bake vanilla cheesecake with your choice of chocolate on top💛
Both are €25 and can be collected up until 2 pm on the 24th of December 🎄

This morning morning a happy baker left the house to set up for the second day at Kilcash craft fair. Dressed in another of her favourite dresses that she can now fit into again (yay!). A little tired after several late evening and early mornings in the kitchen. But mostly she was just excited.
One of the favourite things about my job is getting to meet my regular, irregular and new costumers. It’s so lovely to chat to you all. Thank you so much to everyone who supported me this weekend making it my most successful craft fair🙏🏻❤️ Also a big thank you to everyone who supported Alma and her crocheting. It gave her great confidence and she definitely wants to join me again next year. She’s will make sure to have more octopuses and I’ll make sure to bake a lot more lemon drizzle cakes😊
