🎄 Christmas Cheer at College View Nursing Home where the festive season is in full swing ❤️

A huge thank you to Bronwyn from 11:11 Beauty & Skin Rooms and Ruth from Caterpillar Academy of Montessori for kindly dropping in Christmas gifts for our residents 🎁💖 – your thoughtfulness brought so much joy!

And what a treat it was to welcome Henry Jordan, Boyd George, Ernest Allen, and Jackson Wallis who filled the home with beautiful Christmas carols 🎄 – the residents loved every note🎅

It’s wonderful to see our community coming together to make this season extra special 🥳🎅

On Sunday, we were delighted to welcome the Cavan Baptist Church Choir to College View Nursing Home, where they shared the gift of music with our Residents and Staff ❤️

In this video, you will hear them sing “Silent Night” — a hymn that captures the true spirit of Christmas and brings back so many special memories. 🥰

Our sincere thanks to the Cavan Baptist Choir for giving their time and talent so generously. Your beautiful voices brought great joy and meaning to our home and made this Christmas season even more special

🎂 Happy Birthday, Peggy 🎂
Today at College View Nursing Home, we celebrated Peggy’s special day surrounded by so much love💕. Peggy enjoyed a duvet day so her family joined her in her bedroom🥰.
There was a scrumptious birthday cake that Peggy shared and also enjoyed a slice with a cup of tea.
Peggy was delighted to have her children together celebrating her birthday. 💐💖

🌬️💃 Not even the storm could stop the fun at College View Nursing Home today

We were delighted to welcome Marty and Rev. Tanya, who brought wonderful energy, music and movement to the home.
Residents enjoyed some ballroom dancing, a bit of jiving, and even the staff got a few dance lessons 😄🕺💃

What a brilliant way to brighten a stormy day — laughter, music and great company. ❤️

What a fabulous afternoon we had at the 'Forget me Not' Café Christmas Party on Wednesday December 3rd. Organised by the Cavan Branch Alzheimer Society
The Alzheimer Society of Ireland 🥳

There was a great atmosphere with lots of entertainment including the Royal School Cavan transition year students who were fabulous.

Our College View Nursing Home Residents danced, sang, and chatted - they had a great time and made lots of new lovely memories.
AND Santa arrived with gifts for all - so generous.🎅🎄

Thank you to Carol and all in the Cavan Branch Alzheimer Society for inviting us to the 'Forget me Not' Café all year - we appreciate it very much

🎶 Festive Fun at College View Nursing Home 🎄 where we enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of music with Tony Newman, who had everyone clapping and singing along🥳.

Over the past few days, our residents have also been busy helping our Activities Coordinators and Team to put up some of our Christmas decorations — the home is really starting to feel festive 🎄🎅

A Fun-Filled Day at College View Nursing Home 🎄
We had a wonderful day yesterday, starting with Christmas decorating to get everyone into the festive spirit. 🎨

In the afternoon, we enjoyed a fantastic music session with Mary Harwood — followed by a very special surprise celebration for our Director of Nursing , Jade’s birthday 🎉
Residents and staff presented her with flowers and a thoughtful gift to mark the occasion. 💐🎁

A day full of joy, creativity and celebration!

🎂 Happy 93rd Birthday to our wonderful resident Eileen 🎂

On Saturday, November 22nd, we celebrated Eileen in style at College View Nursing Home with a lovely party filled with singing "Happy Birthday to You" 🎶, Balloons, cards, thoughtful gifts 🎁, and of course a scrumptious birthday cake 🍰.

Eileen had a fantastic time surrounded by loved ones, our Residents & staff, and we are delighted to share in her special day. 💛

📚 College View Nursing Home Book Club – November Picks 📚 where our residents enjoyed another wonderful gathering of our monthly Book Club, thanks to the fantastic selections provided by Cavan County Library Service

This month’s stack offered something for every kind of reader — gripping thrillers 😬, powerful memoirs❤, and fascinating glimpses into history. From heart-pounding mysteries like Knock Knock and The Accomplice, to thought-provoking reads such as Political Imprisonment & the Irish, 1912–1921, our discussions were lively, insightful, and full of shared memories and reflections.

A special highlight was I Will Be Good by Peig McManus — a memoir that sparked lovely conversations about childhood, resilience, and how much the world has changed😘.

Books have a beautiful way of bringing people together, and our residents look forward to this club every month. A huge thank-you to Cavan Libary Service for continuing to support this much-loved activity❤️

Here’s to another month of stories, friendships, and imagination.

Weekend Fun & Games at 🎉

We had a great weekend of fun, focus, and friendly competition! Residents enjoyed a mix of memory games, coordination activities, and a lively disc challenge — where the goal was to get your disc closer to the marked spot than your opponent’s. Plenty of laughs, concentration, and a little competitive spirit filled the room! 😊

Activities like these help stimulate the mind, support coordination, and bring everyone together for meaningful social interaction.
