Restorative yoga is a gentle, deeply relaxing practice that supports the body, mind, and nervous system. Here are five reasons to incorporate it into your routine:
1. Deep Relaxation for the Nervous System
Activates the parasympathetic nervous system to reduce stress, anxiety, and overwhelm. Provides true rest and deep stillness.
2. Improved Sleep Quality
Helps regulate circadian rhythm and promotes deeper, more restful sleep. Great as an evening wind-down practice.
3. Emotional Healing & Grounding
Slowing down allows space for emotional processing and grounding. Supportive during times of grief, burnout, or emotional fatigue.
4. Enhanced Flexibility Without Strain
Long-held, prop-supported poses gently release fascia and tension. Ideal for people with injuries, chronic pain, or limited mobility.
5. Mindfulness & Presence
Cultivates awareness of the body and breath. Helps foster inner stillness and complements meditation and breathwork.

When the land begins to stir beneath the soil, breathwork invites the body to sense its own quiet re-awakening, softening winter’s holding and gently welcoming the first movements of warmth, life, and renewal.

The session begins with gentle Somatic Experiencing–inspired practices, inviting you to slow down, listen, and feel into what the body needs and wants

From here, we move into breathwork to gently welcome in the first movements of warmth, life, and renewal.

On the feast of St. Valentine, this active breathwork journey is an invitation to turn gently towards the heart — not as an idea of romance, but as a place of connection, vitality, and self-care. Self-love is one of the foundations of this breathwork practice, and through conscious, guided breathing we will explore both love and self-love as embodied experiences, softening old holding, awakening aliveness, and reconnecting with the natural intelligence of the heart.

Restorative yoga is a deeply calming practice that supports the body and nervous system to rest, reset, and restore. Using gentle, fully supported postures held for longer periods, it allows the body to soften without effort, helping to release accumulated tension and fatigue. This practice can improve sleep, reduce stress, support emotional regulation, and create a sense of safety and ease in the body. It’s especially beneficial during busy, stressful, or transitional times, offering space to slow down, replenish energy, and reconnect inwardly.

Breathing into the New Year
Two Saturday morning breathwork classes — the 17th and 23rd.
Each session begins with gentle Somatic Experiencing–inspired practices, inviting you to slow down, listen, and feel into what the body needs and wants. From here, we move into breathwork to explore the possibilities of the year ahead — a space to dream, manifest, or simply listen.
