If you struggle with social anxiety, here are three tips that can help.

1. Imaginal exposure can be a very useful tool. In your mind, visualise and practice introductions or imagine ways of ending a conversation. Picturing yourself in these situations in your mind will help give you more confidence in the real scenario.

2. After a social situation, reflect and ask yourself whether the outcome was better or worse than you had hoped. Were your predictions overly negative? How did you feel after?

3. Dont put so much pressure on yourself to make conversation and instead, become an active listener. Most people are very happy to talk about themselves if given the chance. If you worry about not coping with the lull in conversation, a simple trick is to pick a word from the other person's last sentence and say 'Tell me more'.

Hope this helps, any further questions on the topic send me a DM.

Impostor Syndrome is when one feels the overwhelming feeling that you don't deserve your success. You become convinced that you're not as smart, hard-working or talented as you may seem.

You may also feel that you have to work harder because of your perceived inadequacies, to avoid being "unmasked".

It's interesting where a feeling like this may develop. Possible causes could be:

1. A personality trait of perfectionism.

2. Where high achievement was valued highly in the family system you grew up in and now is an expectation you automatically put on yourself.

If you feel you have suffered from this in the past, I hope this post helps to start you on your exploratory journey into figuring out what was going on for you that you felt this way.

In relation to individual therapy, the relationship between you and the therapist- which is fostered through talk therapy- is key to your success.

Individual therapy allows you the safe space to explore your thoughts, feelings and concerns.

Here are some of the few benefits of talk therapy which can change and improve the quality of your life through self-awareness and self-exploration.

Meditation will be a key part of the upcoming Brain and Train programme with

Meditation encourages a heightened state of awareness, mindfulness & focused attention which has been proven to have a wide number of benefits on psychological well-being.

The programme will offer 3 x 5 minute meditation links per week, with a requirement of completing at least 3 sessions per week.

Once a session is completed, it's required you fill in the table above according to the day it was done. David will then come along and fill in your days the colour green. You are aiming for as many green cells over the week.

When we face a setback, our natural instinct is to be disappointed or even upset. As a result, it can put us off trying in that area in the future.

Carol Dweck speaks about this issue in her bestseller book 'Mindset'. She states that one should not look on the setback with a fixed mindset and think there is no hope. Instead, she says one should look on it with a growth mindset and a opportunity to grow going forward.

"People with a growth mindset don't just seek a challenge, they thrive on it"

When resistance creeps in a session, work on the resistance!

How we deal with the process of therapy is very much how we deal with the process of life.
