How I'd explain to a 5-year-old what I do..
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
''I help people feel better'' ..it's that simple.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I've ove complicated it and tried to be really markety about it..but the simple thing is that's what I want to do and that's what I focus on.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But why that 5 year old might ask?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Well because sometimes people feel bad..
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
‘But why?’ ( if you’ve ever spent time around children why is their favourite word! :))
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
‘Maybe they need to sleep better, feel more energised, feel less pain, want to find more joy...whatever it is..I try to help’’
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And how do you help them?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
At the moment through plant magic! I send them little samples of plant essence that smell incredible! It’s called Aromatherapy!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
They smell them. They put some on their bodies. They use them everyday and then we speak about whether they feel better or not. If they don’t feel better we keep going back to the plants and ask them for more magic!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So that's it in a nutshell:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
''I help people feel better''

How to find peace amidst chaos
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It's hard. I know it's noisy out there! There is sooooo much information and stimulation and on some days I honestly feel like I can't take anymore in..so where do I turn?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To nature of course. Ever patient. Always willing to receive me with open arms. Never judgmental.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I feel like the last twelve months I've faced myself over and over again and when it's all gotten too much I've surrendered to nature. To the sea. To the fields. To the storms.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I've walked. I've ran. and it ALWAYS brings me peace.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How do you find peace in your daily life? Would love some inspiration!

When overwhelm hits, here's the first thing that I do!

I stop. Turn to my oils and breathe.

This has hands down been the most powerful technique for me to deal with overwhelm and anxiety. It's kind of hard to believe that I didn't have these tools when I was pregnant and afterwards during those dark dark days but I have them now and I LOVE sharing these oils and techniques with other people that might need them!

When we breathe an oil in, it has a direct effect on our emotional brain , our Limbic system.

Our limbic system regulates our endocrine system which controls our hormones and controls our behavioural responses including our fight and flights responses. It also allows us to access repressed emotions. It's powerful!

When we inhale an oil, it can dramatically shift our moods from overwhelm to balance.
From anger to peace.

From tiredness to alertness.

It's one of the quickest ways to manage big emotions.

These are three of my ultimate faves!

Frankincense is extremely grounding and is proven to help regulate our breathing. Apply to soles of feet or drop a few drops in the palms of your hands and inhale deeply!

Lavender is a known sedative and can really help us manage feelings of anxiety. I love to use it in my diffuser first thing in the morning and last thing at night.
Balance is blend of oils including Spruce, Ho Wood, Frankincense, Blue Tansy, and Blue Chamomile. All these oils are known for their ability to create a calming atmosphere and provide a tranquil aroma. These three combined are a powerful combo! You'll be floating on cloud nine in no time!
What are some of your favourite ways to deal with overwhelm?

My morning routine and which habits I do each day

I used to hate mornings and would grumble and groan my way out of bed demanding coffee. No one would speak to me for at least an hour, whispering behind my back and generally giving me a wide berth!

Nowadays it's a completely different story. I'm not saying I bound out of bed with a spring in my step and sing Snow White like to the birds and animals, but I do have routine that I stick to which ensures I start most of my days in a grounded way.

First off, I'm a coffee person ( I am aiming to give this up one day) but it's my morning ritual and I love it. I add cinnamon powder and a drop of Wild Orange essential oil to my coffee to give it a yummy lift :)

Secondly, I try to start each day with my morning pages.

This is a form of journalling that basically just requires you to write three pages of what ever flows out. The intention is not think about you are writing. At first I found this hard but over time it's become really useful in helping me to dump all that excess thinking onto pages.

The act of writing with a pen also helps to calm my nervous system down. If you have kids you can still do this even if they interrupt ( which they do!).

Sidenote: There are so many things I didn't do because I thought I couldn't as a mother but the truth is you can still meditate and journal in the morning, it's just a bit different :)

Thirdly, I move. Lately that has just been having a dance party in our kitchen in the morning. Sometimes it's a run or a walk or a swim or some gentle yoga. I aim for at least 30 mins every day.

Lasty, I adorn myself with essential oils. If you've been following me for a while you know I am passionate about essential oils. I start by putting oils in my diffuser and then apply to my feet, wrists and back of my ears.

Morning routines can be simple but very effective.
