In May 2010 Healthy Minds was established to respond to the needs of the Traveller community in Cork city.

General information
The main components of the Healthy Minds Project are; • To working with existing services in each area to ensure that the services delivered to Travellers will be appropriate to their needs & culture. • To work closely with the Traveller community so we are aware of the needs of Travellers on the ground & that Travellers needs will be met in regards to Mental Health. • To provide information, advice & support to members of the Traveller community to ensure a greater awareness of how to access existing services. • To support & offer training to Travellers, which will enable them to provide peer support within their own community. • To provide awareness workshops on mental health issues to the Traveller community. • To work closely with the HSE to ensure that Travellers can access services, and to highlight issues that may ‘block’ Travellers entering into service and how best to rectify the problems.
