10th technique for running is Chase Steps. Named due to the fact that your legs are chasing one another, this technique will enhance your lateral range of motion.

Personally I think 100m should be enough, anything below that is great! This one should be performed way and back, or side switch mid way.

Let's have a short discussion about the Superficial Back Arm Line, and its relation to both the Large Intestine (LI) and Triple Burner (TB) meridians.
While they share the same route around the body, there seem to be no function share between the 3, however, their location and the function described for them in TCM can open a new perspective for research.
This time, some of the points on LI, are similar to nerve locations as well. So on that front, there is a strong relation between TCM and our known anatomy, and this, again, opens a new possible stream for research.

9th technique for running is Cross & Change. While looking funny, it is a very important one to incorporate in your training. Spine rotation, while happening on a smaller scale during a run, is occurring with every stride! Strengthen and open the rotation during training to feel the difference in the run!

Personally I think 100m should be enough, anything below that is great! This one should be performed way and back, or side switch mid way.
Let me know how your running is progressing after incorporating these techniques!

What does the Superficial Front Arm Line, Heart (HT) Meridian and Pericardium (PC) Meridian have in common? πŸ€”
A remarkably similar outline through the body is stating the obvious, if we dive a bit deeper, we can find potential common ground around the Pectoralis Major muscle which can relate to 2 separate symptoms and pathologies taken from TCM in the HT and PC meridians.
There is much we do not yet know about inter-body relations, and it is important to not dismiss that which we do not understand!

8th technique for running is Crab Walk. This is aimed to build muscle strength and open range of motion during hip abduction. During a run many people feel their Adductors to be too tight, this could be due to weak abductors.

Personally I think 50m should be enough, anything below that is great!

As promised! I want to start sharing with you some of the findings I had about TCM and known western ideas.
In order to do so, we must first understand the basic terms that will be appearing in the coming posts.
So allow me to introduce: Anatomy Trains, Nerve Placements, Meridians and Acupoints.
If over the next few weeks you'd need a reminder of the terms, you'd find them here πŸ˜‰
