Fuel4Life Aoife O'Donnell Thank you so much for visiting my page. I’m Aoife and I’m a nutritionist and personal trainer. From then on I was hooked! Hooked again!

Lifestyle Nutritionist & Personal Trainer
Bespoke, honest, sustainable nutrition & exercise plans to help people achieve their goals; be it weight loss, understanding foods, post partum recovery, improve performance etc A bit about me…

So my love of sport & nutrition all started when I returned from Australia 10 years ago and at the age of 26 I decided to take up Gaelic Football with my local club. After I hung up my boots, I still craved that buzz…so I started doing weights. I found the physical aspect so interesting I decided to become a personal trainer. I completed an EFQ Level 4 Personal Training Course with Image Fitness. At the same time food and nutrition always fascinated me, I therefore decided to complete yearlong course on Nutrition with Body Type Nutrition. After just having a baby I understand all the struggles around food - such as trying to find the time to cook! I love helping people improve their diet and empowering them to make positive Long Term lifestyle choices. When it comes to physical well-being and nutrition, I don’t advocate quick fixes as they don’t last. I want my clients to feel good about themselves into the future and informed about the choices they make! How do I do this?
• I sit down with you to discuss and understand your goals and develop a plan to help you to achieve them.
• I look at your diet and firstly identify minor changes that can be made and work from there…
• I provide a tailored nutrition plan specific to your needs.
• I will look at your nutrition and ensure to maximize performance in your chosen sport. (I still love my sports after all)
• I’ll work with you to create healthy habits that last a life-time!
• I’ll provide advice on how to stay focused and healthy week on week.
• I’m a big fan of making healthy food tasty and enjoyable.
• The plans I develop for clients always allow for a treat or two! (Yum!)

In addition to full weekly nutritional programs; I can also provide a one off analysis of your diet. Is you goal weight loss/improving health & well being/ Post Partum recovery/ toning /performance enhancement? Do I sound like the coach for you? If yes please send me a message or send an e-mail (click on button) and we can develop a plan which is most suited to you.

😳 STARVATION MODE - WHAT IS IT? 🙄
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🤔 Have you ever heard that you can gain fat from eating too little? That if your calorie deficit is too large your metabolism crashes and you actually get fatter? If you have, let me know in the comments or tag a friend who has also heard it
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🤷‍♂️ Just think about it for a second. Does it make sense?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🙄 It makes no sense. We live in a world where unfortunately some people don’t have easy access to food, and they are not overweight or gaining weight, they are severe malnourished
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
😡 Starvation mode is made up, it doesn’t exist
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So what actually happens when your calories go low and weight loss “seems” to stall during a diet
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✅ You stop moving as much and reduce your calorie output
✅ You’re eating more food than you realise and are underreporting (or just lying)
✅ Stress is causing you to retain water and the scale weight isn’t moving
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💡 There may be a benefit to slightly increasing your calories, but it is NOT because of starvation mode, it is because you’ll increase you’re calorie output and training intensity which keeps you in a calorie deficit
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🤷‍♂️ When it comes to creating a calorie deficit people focus so much on the calories going in, that they forget what effect that can have on the calorie output. You can increase calories going in and still be in a calorie deficit
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💁🏼‍♂️ Heard any other crazy myths about starvation mode? Let me know in the comments below

And it tasted amazing. (If I do say so myself)

See link below for recipe. I cooked it at 130 degrees for 3 hours.
