All our learners deserve the best support there is therefore, at every opportunity, I strongly encourage all educators to advance their knowledge and stay up to date with the latest evidence-based findings relevant to their fields.
The quality, depth and breadth of CPD courses and training sessions you choose matter a lot. Simplifying concepts often results in more confusion in ill-informed teachers or parents. In case of neurodiversity, little or limited knowledge can cause more harm than good. For example, learning about dyslexia alone or in conjunction with just one associated condition, may lead to a situation where similar symptoms are later misread for a different neuro-developmental condition as other factors have been ignored. In other words, if the only tool you have is a hammer, everything becomes a nail.
To bring more clarity and enable all teachers as well as other professionals to bridge the gaps, be better informed and feel more confident in navigating the complexities of working with neurodiverse minds, I share specialist knowledge at conferences, in bespoke sessions, lectures, courses and journals, globally.
