Kare Plus Sponsors Life-Saving Defibrillator in Donegal Following Heroic Act by Specsavers Staff

A life-saving act by Specsavers staff in Donegal has inspired a new wave of community support, with local care agency Kare Plus Donegal stepping forward to sponsor a defibrillator for the local area.

A few months ago, the quick thinking of Specsavers employees saved a man’s life using a defibrillator. Motivated by this experience, the staff wanted to ensure a defibrillator would be permanently installed on site to protect the local community.

Kare Plus, a caring agency recently established in Donegal, became aware of the story and chose to sponsor the defibrillator, reflecting the company’s commitment to putting back into the communities they serve. “We want to do more than just say we care, we want to show it,” said Niall Blee director of Kare Plus Donegal . “Supporting this life-saving initiative is one way we can make a tangible difference in Donegal.”

The defibrillator is now available outside Specsavers in Letterkenny and can be accessed 24 hours a day, ensuring the community has immediate access to life-saving equipment whenever it’s needed.

As part of its wider network, Kare Plus provides public defibrillators across Ireland and continues to prioritize safety and wellbeing in the communities it serves. The company is now expanding its team in Donegal and is actively recruiting care staff in all areas of the county.

“This partnership with Specsavers demonstrates the power of community collaboration,” added Niall Blee “We are proud to support initiatives that save lives while also growing our team of compassionate care professionals in Donegal.”
