But survival patterns aren’t healing patterns.

And this is why healing feels uncomfortable.
Because when you start doing it differently,such as setting boundaries, saying no, asking for more, walking away your body might panic. It feels unfamiliar. It feels risky. It feels wrong… even when it’s right.

Discomfort doesn’t always mean you’re making a mistake.
Sometimes it means you’re breaking a cycle.

You don’t have to do that alone.

Therapy is often imagined as just sitting and talking but honestly, there’s so much more that goes into it. It isn’t just the 50 minutes you see in the room.
Behind every session is thoughtful preparation, intention, and care to ensure the space feels safe, supportive, and centred around you.🥰

Therapy can be adapted to your needs, your goals, and where you are in this season of your life. Some days that might look like deep conversation, other days it may involve creative work, reflection, or grounding tools. There is no ‘right’ way to do therapy, only what works best for you & by just showing up speaks volumes too!

Something I see so often in the therapy room.

Someone comes in carrying the weight of a single moment, something they said, a decision they made, a mistake they can’t stop replaying. Anxiety convinces them that this one moment says something terrible about who they are.

But the truth is softer than anxiety allows.

Not everything in life will turn out perfectly. Sometimes things will go wrong. Sometimes it will be your fault. And that doesn’t make you a bad person ,it makes you human. You are still the same you. You’ve just messed up in some way.

When this happens, your nervous system often shifts into fight-or-flight. The body reacts as if danger is present, even when the “threat” is emotional, like a look, a tone, or the fear of disappointing someone. So your mind loops, ruminates, and searches for certainty, hoping that if it understands the mistake enough, it can keep you safe.

You should know this isn’t a weakness, it’s protection.

Part of the therapeutic work is learning to notice when you’re stuck in that loop, not to judge it, but to gently interrupt it. To stop spending hours replaying what you got wrong and questioning your worth because of it.

You don’t have to carry the burden of what everyone else thinks. In therapy, we work on rebuilding trust in your ability to make the right decisions for you, even when those decisions aren’t perfect.

Healing isn’t about never making mistakes. It’s about learning how to stay connected to yourself when you do.
