This December Lena's Little Learners are running a special 3-week Christmas Block filled with the sweetest traditions of the season — designed especially for little ones 1–6 years💕

🌟 What’s inside the festive fun?
• Decorating the Christmas tree
• Writing letters to Santa(with lots of excitement and imagination!)
• Play-doh Christmas treats & sensory cooking play
• Glowing lights, cosy winter vibes
• And plenty of hands-on crafts, messy play, and joyful learning 🎨✨

All sessions take place in our warm, friendly mini groups, where every child gets their own creative + sensory kit and lots of personalised attention.

🍽️ Kitchen Adventures at Lena’s Little Learners! 👩‍🍳✨

This week we turned our classroom into a busy little kitchen, full of exploring hands and curious minds!
The kids learned about cutlery and kitchen utensils, matched real objects to pictures, and sorted everything by colour and shape — spoons, cups, plates, tiny forks and even knifes... all the fun things that make cooking magic happen! 🥄🌈

For our creative activity, we looked at different kinds of plates and made our own “meals.”
The children prepared a very special imaginary dish — chicken curry🍛
We used rice for the base and little pieces of playdough as chicken. Delicious creativity!

During sensory play, we stepped into a 'hot, busy kitchen'🔥
Kids mixed pasta, rice, lentils and semolina, sifted, scooped, separated and combined ingredients to create their own signature dishes.
So much pouring, stirring, shaking and experimenting — all amazing for:
✨ Fine motor skills
✨ Sensory development
✨ Vocabulary growth
✨ Imagination and confidence

Hands-on kitchen play teaches kids real-life skills in the most fun and safe way!

💡 Want to keep the kitchen magic going at home? Try these:

1️⃣ Pasta Sorting Chef– use different shapes of pasta and let your child sort by size, shape or colour (you can dye pasta in advance!).
2️⃣ Make-a-Meal Plate – give your child a paper plate and let them “cook” using playdough, cotton pads, pompoms or cut-out pictures of food.
3️⃣ Sink or Float: Food Edition – test different kitchen items (spoon, pasta, apple slice, cork) and guess which ones will float. Great little science moment!

🏠 Home Sweet Home Week at Lena’s Little Learners! 🧡

This week we explored what a home is made of — walls, roof, windows, doors… and of course the cosy feeling inside!
Our little builders named the parts of a house, created their own homes from magnetic shapes, and even discovered how magnets attract and connect🧲✨

We sorted animals by “who lives where,” matched colours, and trained attention by finding the right resident from just a tiny piece of their fur/feathers/colour 👀🦊🐦
So much thinking, matching, and tiny-hand magic!

And for our creative part, the kids painted their own houses and decorated them with textured materials to make a fun 3D design—pure imagination! 🎨💕

💡 Want to continue the ‘home’ theme at home? Try these:

1️⃣ Build-a-Home Box– give your child a cardboard box to turn into a house with crayons, tape, stickers and “real” windows.
2️⃣ Who Lives Here? – hide animals/figures around the room and make little “homes” for them (nest, cave, house, tree). Kids match and sort.
3️⃣ House Hunt – walk around your neighbourhood and spot different house parts: chimneys, doors, shapes of windows, roof colours.

🚗 Vroom vroom! Transport Week at Lena’s Little Learners!✈️⛴️

This week we were all about things that go, fly and float!🚙💨
Our little explorers had so much fun naming different types of transport and sorting them by where they belong — on the road, in the sky or on the water!🌊☁️🚗

We parked colourful cars in their matching parking spots 🎨, built bridges and winding roads, and explored different shapes through play.
So many tiny hands were busy building, rolling, connecting and imagining — fine motor skills in action! 💪✨

💡 Want to try some transport fun at home?

1️⃣ Car colour hunt– find toys or objects around the house that match your toy car’s colour.
2️⃣ Build a road city– use tape or paper strips to create roads on the floor, then add bridges, tunnels, and parking spaces.
3️⃣ Float or sink test – try small toy vehicles in water and guess which ones will float! 🛥️💦
Every beep, zoom and splash was full of learning and laughter! 🚦
