When the mind is conditioned by memory, it only repeats what it has accumulated.

A mind conditioned by the experiences of so many yesterdays can only see the present through the cloudy lens of the past.

If we want to know how to listen, if we want to learn how to listen so that we can discover the new, then we must live in accordance with the philosophy of momentariness. Yes, it is essential to live from moment to moment, without the preoccupations of the past and without projections of the future.

For the mind, the truth is unknowable from moment to moment. Therefore, our minds must always be alert, in complete attention, free from prejudgments and preconceptions, so that they can become truly receptive.

Schoolteachers must teach their students the profound significance of knowing how to listen.

It is necessary to learn how to live wisely, to refine our senses, to refine our behavior, our thoughts, our sentiments.

To have a great academic background is worthless if we do not know how to listen, if we are not capable of discovering the new from moment to moment.

We need to refine attention, to refine our manners, to refine ourselves, to refine many things, etc., nonetheless, it is impossible to become truly refined when we do not know how to listen.

Rough, rude, deteriorated, degenerated minds never know how to listen, never know how to discover the new. Those minds only apprehend—and in a mistaken manner—the absurd translations of that satanic secretary named “I,” myself, the ego.

To be refined is something very difficult, and it requires complete attention. Someone can appear to be a very refined person regarding fashion, suits, dresses, gardens, cars, and friendships, however, within his psyche he will continue to be rough, crude, and unpleasant.

Those who know how to live from moment to moment walk indeed upon the path of true refinement.

Those who have a receptive, spontaneous, integral, alert mind walk upon the path of authentic refinement.

The one who receives everything as new, with an open mind, abandoning the burden of the past, preconceptions, prejudices, jealousies, fanaticisms, etc., marches victoriously along the path of authentic refinement, whereas the degenerated mind lives imprisoned in the past, in preconceptions, pride, self-esteem, prejudices, etc.

When we practice meditation, our mind is assailed by many memories, desires, passions, worries, etc.

We must turn off the projector through self-observation and comprehension.

Examine every image, every memory, every thought that comes to mind.

Remember that every thought has two poles: positive and negative.

In and out are aspects of the same thing.

The dining room and the bathroom, the high and
the low, the pleasant and the unpleasant, etc, are always the two poles of the same thing.

Examine the two poles of every mental form that comes to mind.

Remember that it is only through the study of polarities that the synthesis is arrived at.

Our lectures, courses and workshops offer the fundamental tools of self-knowledge based on the ancient Gnostic Teachings in order to help people overcome the obstacles that currently impede our psychological, physical, and spiritual development.

It also helps us free flowing all the psychic capacities that we carry within our conscience that allow us to truly become who we really are by connecting with our Inner Being.

To help Gnostic students achieve these goals, some of the subjects featured on the courses are: gnostic psychology, meditation, awakening of the consciousness, anthropology, mysteries of life and death, philosophy, and many more.

If you want to seek wisdom, explore your intuition.

In it, wisdom expresses itself directly, beyond concepts and opinions.

In the silence of the mind, we listen to the wisdom that pulsates alive in us, in our consciousness, and we learn to deal intuitively with the obstacles that life presents to us.

Meditation is a path that helps us to reach a state of wholeness, serenity and humility.

The Chinese word "Mo" means silence or serene, "Chao" means to reflect or observe.

Mo-Chao can therefore be translated as serene reflection or serene observation.

What is difficult and painstaking is to achieve absolute mental silence at all levels of the subconscious.

The practice of Mo-Chao is not just about making the mind blank, but is based on two principles: deep reflection and tremendous serenity.

However, it is clear to understand that in pure Gnosticism the terms serenity and reflection have much deeper meanings, and must be understood according to their special connotations.

The feeling of serenity transcends what is normally understood as calmness or tranquillity.

It implies a superlative state that is beyond reasoning, desires, contradictions and words.

Likewise, the sense of reflection is beyond that which is always understood as contemplation of a problem or idea.

It does not imply here mental activity or contemplative thought, but a kind of objective, clear and reflective consciousness; always illuminated in its own experience.

Serene reflection is clear consciousness in the tranquillity of non-thought.

When perfect serenity reigns, true deep illumination is attained.

In no way do we want meditation that is inconsequential, superficial and vain.

We must know how to be serious, we must know how to change if we really do not want to fail in the esoteric work.

Those who do not know how to meditate, those who are superficial, those who are inattentive, will never be able to dissolve the Ego; they will always be an impotent piece of wood in the raging sea of life.

A defect discovered in the field of practical life must be deeply understood through the technique of meditation.

The learning material for meditation is to be found precisely in the various events or circumstances of everyday practical life; this is incontrovertible.

People always protest against unpleasant events; they never see the usefulness of such events.

Instead of protesting against unpleasant circumstances, we should extract from them, through meditation, the useful elements for our spiritual growth.

This is a very common question and we often forget that meditation begins with self-observation.

That's right.

Self-observation brings us into the here and now, bringing us closer to our objective consciousness.

The second step is good relaxation and classical music helps with that.

When meditating, listen to Beethoven, Bach, Schubert and Liszt.

Such compositions vibrate on the same notes that sustain the balance of the universe and enrich the values of the heart.

We can also practice meditation without music, in silence.

Perfumes are also a great help and play an important role in helping to harmonise our state of mind.

Aromas such as rose, orange blossom, myrtle or sandalwood help with inspiration, to reach higher states in meditation.

In order for us to really integrate with the real and true in us, our Being, our Innermost, it is necessary to create an esoteric discipline and to carry out three practices:

🔹 Concentration
🔹 Prayer
🔹 Meditation

Concentration is practised by focusing on a single point, at thesame time as keeping one's attention on oneself.

It can be on a region of the body, an object, a mantram or a Koan (cryptic statements practised in Zen Buddhism, also known by the Chinese as Hua Tou).

Example of a Koan:

"If all things are reduced to unity, what is unity reduced to?"

The Koan is repeated mentally until the mind is still, serene.

During the practice of concentration, it is necessary to keep the phrase or image in the realm of thought for a certain period of time.

This concentration work is the first step towards authentic prayer and meditation.

The great step towards total and definitive change comes only through meditation.

Master Samael Aun Weor advises us of this in the book THE GREAT REBELLION and shows us that the path to self-knowledge is guided by meditation.

Deep reflection on the circumstances of life helps us to understand each of the I's involved in the events of the day to day.

For that, we need to apply ourselves to concentration and learn to silence the mind, through meditation.

Those who do not know how to meditate are subject to the mechanical action of the events of life, to the eternal identification with events, and fall prey to the tendency to always blame others.

Seek the light within you.

Gnostic knowledge is the guide on this journey.
