Happy Friday 😃🙌💫

As I am starting a new term of guided breathing sessions in October - I thought I'd share a little post on what even IS "Breathwork" 🌊

There are SOooo many different styles and ways of practising breathwork 💨💭

Some activate your stress response and are helpful in releasing emotions and can be quite transformative experiences 💫🤩🧚‍♀️ This is NOT the style or type I am doing - maybe one day!

My breathwork sessions are ideal for those who:

➡️ Feel stressed

➡️ Feel wound up

➡️ Feel overwhelmed

➡️ Can be irritable and reactive

➡️ Overthink, have trouble making decisions

➡️ Prioritise everything else above themselves

➡️ Find it hard to wind down and rest

➡️ Crave a sense of calm and peace in their body and mind

➡️ Want to improve their mood and mindset

➡️ Really great for those who experience PMS, irritability

➡️ For M**s who need a much needed break

The style I am bringing to my upcoming sessions is all about calming the mind down, calming the body down, helping you rest, and deeply relax 💫🌊🦋

It is VERY rare for us to give ourselves dedicated time to recharge - like ACTUALLY recharge, not just collapse onto the couch at the end of the week!

I love creating content for IG but it is always the last thing on my list of priorities & I have to say I didn't miss it while I was off it for the past 5- 6 weeks.

If you find it hard to focus, find you lose track of time, or find you are a chronic overthinker, try a few weeks off IG or Tik Tok and see how clear your mind feels!

I found I was able to be much more present, productive and less reactive. Have you tried time off social media, and if you have how did you feel?

Hello 🥰 Happy friday 🙌

I'm off to a friends wedding today, I probably won't be posting over the weekend.

So this is a reminder that there are only a few spaces left next Wednesday 🦋 and it is the second last evening circle!

A very non Paddy's day post 😆 but contraception is a 365 days a year kind of issue. (And especially something that might be on your mind on a long weekend 🤭👀)

A LOT of women in my DMs, in consultations or just conversations, are concerned about contraception and unwanted pregnancies.

Unfortunately, the burden still often lies solely on women (appreciation for the men out there who take responsibility and are communicating about it! ❤️)

What I hear from Women is that they feel they are not 'bad enough' to come off HC, that they are 'just making it sound worse', 'everyone is on it, so I should just accept it' 'I am worried what my partner will say', 'if I get pregnant I feel feel guilty' 😢

As most hormonal contraception shuts down ovulation and natural hormone production - the side effects can vary widely from brain fog, anxiety, appetite regulation, weight distribution, low mood, sleep disruption, digestion, libido, ability to cope with stress to the immune system.

If you do not feel like yourself and think it might be related to your contraceptive medication - Please trust yourself and advocate for yourself and seek support. Non hormonal options are available.

I created this post to hopefully help with some confusion and help you with your decision.

As hormonal contraception has such wide reaching side effects it literally changes how we show up in the world and often times can hold us back - there are other options available!

It can be hard if you're in a relationship that hasn't had open conversations about this, but biting the bullet and bringing it up is possible! The more communication the better. It's a two-way street, and this shouldn't be left on your shoulders to carry.

*disclaimer- There are some conditions that are so severe, and HC gives back some quality of life. Reminder that diet and lifestyle can help your body with the symptoms and side effects of HC.*

I started a new gym this week, 3rd one in a few months 😅 (maybe I'm the problem?? 😂) It actually made me realise I haven't been even trying to exercise in sync with my cycle. Definitely not practicing what I preach.

I have tried to be consistent and disciplined, often going my planned 3 - 4 times during the week, but I was getting so turned off and really not enjoying a lot of sessions.

I value self discipline, delayed gratification, and know consistency is important, but life is also for enjoyment, so why not change it up if it's more of an annoyance than anything. I'm not an athlete or training for anything in particular, I exercise and move for general health, happiness, longevity - so why train so rigidly?

Living in sync with your cycle means adapting as much as we can to the flow of our hormones throughout each phase. 💫Including how we move & exercise 💪

Every woman experiences her cycle differently though, so these are just some tips on where you can start!

If you often feel burnt out and fatigued, maybe you feel like as much as you try to stay disciplined and consistent - it just doesn't feel right.. 😫

This can sometimes be down to pushing against our hormones & cycle too much.

As much as group classes are great and I've done them for years, you're expected to have the same energy/strength/output in every session (unless the trainer is cycle informed)

Happy weekend ☺️☺️

Decided the theme for this week's circle, I generally decide the themes based on what I AM feeling the need for 😂

Anytime I try to think of others, and what they might need - I get confused (Because HOW do we really know what other people need!) Every client I speak to is different!

So at the moment, I'm feeling the need to recentre! To come back to what is TRULY important ❤️‍🔥

As women, we can be natural carers. This is a gift but it means we might get overwhelmed with everything going on around us (work, family, relationships, exercise, diet, etc etc) that we can lose ourselves by following what we think we SHOULD be doing, trying to keep up with others, and force ourselves ultimately ending up burnt out 😬

So this week, I've decided the theme of Rediscovering our Values to help us refocus and work towards a fulfilling life ❤️💫✨️🤍

When was the last time you took a moment to really think about what is really important to you? What do you value in life?
Does your life now reflect this?

Do you sometimes feel burnt out, confused maybe even resentment doing things you just don't care about or even want to do? 😐

We work so much on external things, isn't it crazy that we spend little to no time on our mindset?

Spending time on this stuff helps us to become stronger, more compassionate, more disciplined, live true to ourselves - ultimately to have a more fulfilling life ❤️

Our values help us realise what's important to us! And living by these daily in ANY small way helps 🩷🩷 it doesn't mean changing every aspect of your life in the click of a finger, but it can help us see more clearly and have more gratitude, and less judgement!
