Calling all interested Dad's-To-Be

It's one thing to prep the mum-to-be, but the anxiety that a dad feels while his partner is in labour can absolutely pass across to her.... And serve to unfocus her and stress her out when she needs to be focusing on one thing only..

That's exactly why I have decided to host a workshop that will help dad's understand how important and why it is important to keep you calm throughout labour... And not only that... But most importantly..

To bring you BACK to a state of calm if you begin to panic. This is the difference in being able to stay at home for longer or alternatively spend more hours labouring in a maternity ward.

So thrilled to be a part of the Mum Talks Baby Club. I have spoken at this Club twice before and there is such a lovely sense of camraderie in the group of women who are going through parenting of small infants at the same time 💕💕

My slot is all about "Minding Mum" & through my extensive research in the postpartum arena, I know how valuable it is for women who are about to give birth or who have recently given birth to connect with other women at this season of life 💜 ... True, honest, raw, vulnerable chat is provided so that you do not feel alone and so that you know what is normal & what to expect 💜

Hospital visits during pregnancy can be a time of heightened anxiety, particularly when lots of information is being thrown at you, and lots of coercion and gentle (or not so) encouragement to participate in particular interventions or examinations..

We often tend to fall into a submissive relationship with our consultant & assume that they know best for us, and whatever it is they tell us, is what is right for us.

I am a big advocate for making informed decisions. 🧠Decisions based on your own individualistic circumstance rather than a general approach.

Having a toolbox of questions to hand can be enormously helpful for remembering what you should ask when presented with a difficult or unexpected hospital appointment conversation.

The acronym BRAIN is a helpful tool to ensure you get lots of information from your healthcare provider⬇️

B🧠 what are the BENEFITS of this?

R 🧠 what are the RISKS associated with this?

A 🧠 what ALTERNATIVE options do I currently have?

I 🧠 how do I feel INTUITIVELY?

N 🧠 what will happen if I do NOTHING? (Basically carry on as I am...)

Then I highly recommend taking your information, going home and doing several things to relax & switch off for the evening.

This could include having a nice dinner made for you by someone else or grabbing a takeaway. Having a lovely scented bath. Watching a funny movie (increase those endorphins - happy hormones). Listen to a sleep meditation. See how you feel in the morning.

A clear head will help so much.

Breath work when practiced regularly is AMAZING for keeping Adrenaline at bay. What also works a treat is STAYING HOME for as long as possible alongside a supportive birth partner (as long as you are having an uncomplicated pregnancy & birth).

Hypnobirthing is LIFE CHANGING and has been for me with my 3 births and I love to share this knowledge with other mums so that you too can practice Hypnobirthing and stay home for longer, when it is safe to do so.
