Part-time Practice Nurse

Dynamic, well established GP Clinic in Dublin 9 is looking for a Practice Nurse to join their busy team. This is an exceptional opportunity, and a start beginning of June is ideally required. The position is for 2 mornings per week (8am - 1pm), ideally Monday and Friday morning.


Practice Nurse Job Spec:

Clinical functions:

obtaining blood samples
electrocardiograms (ECGs)
child immunisations and advice
family planning & women’s health including cervical smears
men’s health screening
sexual health services
screening and helping patients to manage long term conditions (CDM)

Administration Functions:

Ordering supplies and stock
PCRS and lab interactions and query resolutions
Clinical record maintenance

Necessary Skills:


Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Computer literacy and knowledge of relevant health care and administrative software
Good motivation, training and goal-setting skills
In-depth knowledge of health care best practices and standards
Organisation and time management skills
Understanding of health and safety standards and GDPR requirements in the medical industry
You must be a qualified and registered nurse to work in general practice.

Salary: commensurate with experience

Fee Increase - New rates will commence from 2nd May 2023

Due to inflation and rising costs in healthcare, we have to raise our rates to keep pace. We have kept the increase as low as we can. In most cases, rates have only been adjusted for inflation.

As always, all of our fees are listed on our website and our team are available to answer any of your questions.

The new consultation fee is €65

The new blood test fee is €40 (€20 courier fee for GMS)

Extended appointments (30minutes) are €120

This clinic is for everyone over 16 years of age who has not yet received their Covid vaccine booster and has not had Covid in the last 3 months.

Calderwood Family Clinic will be running Covid-19 booster vaccination clinics on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 2pm - 4pm in February 2022 - dates to be confirmered - we are awaiting a delivery from the HSE. These clinics are for everyone over 16 years of age who have not yet received their Covid vaccine booster and have not had Covid in the last 3 months.

You must bring your PPS and ID. It must be at least 3 months since your last vaccination or since you last had Covid.

All vaccines will be MRNA vaccines.

Calderwood Family Clinic will be running Covid-19 booster vaccination clinics on the afternoons of the 4th, 5th and 6th January from 2pm - 4pm. This clinic is for everyone over 16 years of age who has not yet received their Covid vaccine booster and it has not had Covid in the last 3 months.

You must bring your PPS and ID. It must be at east 3 months since your last vaccination or since you last had Covid.

More clinics will be available in January.

All vaccines will be MRNA vaccines.

COVID-19 BOOSTER VACCINATIONS – UPDATE FOR ALL PATIENTS

Given the rapidly evolving circumstances around COVID and in particular the Omicron variant there is a focused acceleration of the COVID BOOSTER PROGRAMME. The overriding clinical imperative is to have as many of the population as possible vaccinated within the next few weeks.

As a result, Calderwood Family Clinic will be delivering an accelerated programme.
