Good news! The new Education (Leave for Injuries) Bill by Senator Laura Harmon is a huge step forward.

It would mean leave-for-injuries scheme are negotiated with unions, financial assistance, paid leave, and other supports. Well done to members who've been campaigning for years!

Cabin crew ballot in Aer Lingus! It’s on a pay proposal that the branch recommends members reject.
Aer Lingus announced its intention to implement a 3% pay increase from Jan 2026, regardless of the ballot and despite it not addressing the broader pay issues cabin crew face. This is in a year that has seen enormous profitability for the airline.

“It’s been a privilege to serve those who serve.”

The end of an era - Fórsa deputy general secretary Matt Staunton will retire at the end of the month.

His decades of staunch trade unionism saw huge achievements, including his role in the creation of Fórsa. He retires with the deepest of respect from his colleagues and members, and a legacy of kindness, fairness and solidarity.

He is going to be sorely missed. We wish him every happiness.

ICT workers in Local Authorities have voted to take industrial action for recognition, career progression, and a fair approach to out of hours work.

Members will now regroup and decide next steps. Watch this space.
