Two Weeks eating only anti inflammatory whole foods! 🍎🍓🥑🍋🥝🫐🫒
I started this off attempting the AIP (auto immune protocol) in order to help endomitrosis and adenomyosis symptoms, however, although I had prepped thoroughly, I found myself getting really stressed about food and what I could and couldn’t have. On the AIP, there are lots of fruits and veg that you can’t have and I was really struggling to get creative with my food. I also felt like if I had to eat another sweet potato for breakfast, lunch and dinner, I was going to turn into one.
Stress causes inflammation and I was starting to think I may be doing the opposite of what this protocol was designed for. Some people are able for it, but I accepted that I wasn’t. So I decided to broaden my choices and do something more sustainable that I will continue to do for more than 30 days and I added back in more fruits and veg into my diet. Still no gluten, no ultra processed foods, and very little dairy, and I’m still feeling amazing.
I’m training 3 days a week at the moment and getting out for walks in between clients throughout the day, but this is proof that your diet is just as important whilst exercising.
Although I’m a personal trainer, I’m also human, and life gets in the way (mental health, condition diagnosis and trying to guide yourself through it all) and I can fall back into bad habits, but since committing myself to choosing better foods and more mindful eating, everything has changed for me. It really goes to show, you can go to countless doctor appointments, take countless different medications, but if your food choices are not the best, none of it is worth it.
“Nothing changes, if nothing changes”, and right now, that quote couldn’t be truer for me. I can’t believe how quickly things have changed since I changed my way of eating.
I know eating this way isn’t going to cure my condition, but it’s making me feel a hell of a lot better. I feel like my quality of life has completely changed in just 2 weeks and I can’t wait to see what I’ll feel like in the years to come.
