“Am I eating the right things for my baby?” 🤍

I remember thinking about this a lot while breastfeeding my first child, especially in those early days when I was tired, hungry, and in survival mode (sometimes with a packet of biscuits in hand!) 😅

Let me tell you:

Your body is amazing. 💪🏻

Even when your diet isn’t perfect, your body will prioritise making milk for your baby.

But (and this part matters too)
your nutrition is important for you.

Your energy.
Your recovery.
How you feel day to day. 🤍

Breastfeeding uses a lot of energy (around 500 extra calories a day), so if you’re feeling hungrier than usual… that’s your body doing exactly what it’s meant to do.

Instead of overthinking it, listen to your body and try to keep things simple:
• Eat regularly
• Add protein where you can
• Don’t skip carbs (you need them!)
• Keep a water bottle nearby

Some days will feel balanced, others won’t, and that’s ok. 💕

Starting solids is a big step… 🥣

And it can come with a lot of questions!

I was so stressed starting solids with my first child. I wished there was a chill, no judgement, real life class I could attend to guide me...

So based on my knowledge and experience as a children's nurse and mum, I created this class especially for you 🤍

Here are a few tips:

1️⃣ For the first year, breast milk or formula remains your baby’s main source of nutrition.

2️⃣ Solids are about:
• Learning
• Exploring
• Building skills
Not replacing milk feeds overnight.

3️⃣ Introducing lumpy foods between 6–9 months
can actually support your child in accepting a wider range of foods later on.

What happens in a 45-minute Fourth Trimester appointment? 🤍

There’s no rigid agenda.

This time is shaped around you, your baby, and whatever feels most important that day.

For many parents, it’s simply a chance to pause, ask questions, and feel reassured that things are going in the right direction.

We might talk through feeding, baby’s weight, sleep and behaviour, your recovery, or anything you’re unsure about.

This is perfect as a gentle 4-week check-in between routine visits — a space to feel supported during a time when so much can change.

If you’re currently pregnant, this is something really helpful to plan ahead for 🤍
