Wayfinding Women LTD

Wayfinding Women LTD WW was founded by Ann Hoffman-Ruffner, to encourage women to choose courage over comfort & inspire them to live their one "wild and precious" life.

Imagine a world where you are fully empowered and connected to like-hearted women worldwide; a world where you are supported in actualizing your dreams, living in joy and positively transforming your world. Wayfinding Women uses deep listening, compassion, and total acceptance to create a safe and beautiful space for women to step out of their every-day grind and into their personal power where they can make their way through significant transitions and transformations of their lives. We do this through luxury retreats, private coaching, and lively workshops and events. We serve as an emissary and connector, assisting women on their journey of discovery & empowerment, connecting them for support and worldwide engagement. At Wayfinding Women, we believe:

1) All women encounter times of challenge or transition where obstacles impede our ability to achieve our goals and our dreams

2) We are best able to break through barriers and effect change through compassion, encouragement and support, and

3) Self-actualized, empowered, and joyous women are powerful change agents for impacting their world in remarkable ways

4) We are better together

Wayfinding Women would like to connect with you if:

-You are seeking space and support to rejuvenate and reclaim your inner super-heroine

Getting to spend the last 10 years introducing women to one another and our big, beautiful world has been the best decision I ever made. It has not come without heartbreak and loss but when you realize your soul’s purpose, you have to follow.

Helping women find the courage to live their one, fabulous life with courage rather than comfort - not just sticking their toes into international travels but diving in. Living OUT LOUD with real joy.
And connecting AUTHENTICALLY with like-hearted others (letting themselves be REALLY seen) - showing up, being BRAVE even when our knees are quaking with nervousness for stepping out of our comfort zones.

It’s been a magical 10 years. I have been blessed to meet and share these trips with THE most inspiring and femme-moms al women (and also men, since starting the ALL OF US mixed trips- there are some pretty awesome, inspiring men n part of our community -the world needs more men like these men)

Hope you enjoy this peek into the last 10…and here’s to the next chapter of Wayfinding Women LTD!
If you feel touched by this, come join our community.

This seems relevant right now. In the days leading up to the US Election, it feels important to remind ourselves of what intentions we want to set for how we wish to show up and/or be. It's so easy to go into reactivity when our fears get triggered. These are moments we can set the intention to remember to PAUSE. Pause before reacting/responding.

Holding all of you and our precious world with so much love and I invite you as you read this to join me in sending love energy out around the globe❤️

SEEKING THE PUBLIC GOOD
Spiritual Practice and Social Renewal

All Saint’s Day

Nothing that is worth doing can be achieved in our lifetime; therefore we must be saved by hope. Nothing which is true or beautiful or good makes complete sense in any immediate context of history; therefore we must be saved by faith. Nothing we do, however virtuous, can be accomplished alone; therefore we are saved by love. No virtuous act is quite as virtuous from the standpoint of our friend or foe as it is from our standpoint. Therefore we must be saved by the final form of love which is forgiveness.
—Reinhold Niebuhr, The Irony of American History

Esteemed CAC teacher and colleague Dr. Barbara Holmes (1943–2024) draws wisdom from theologian Reinhold Niebuhr:

Reinhold Niebuhr’s words ring true. Although we wish it was otherwise, the struggle for justice is never completed in one lifetime or one rebellion. The shifting of systems, the turning of hearts, the forgiveness of oppressions and the dissipation of anger (righteous or not) takes time. It is not easy to confront injustice. It requires solidarity and the inevitable loss of life. It requires that each generation aver, “we are ready to be free by any peaceful means necessary.” [1] …

No matter how desperate our personal or communal situations seem, we are oscillating at both high and low frequencies between the good and the grotesque. We cannot always see the path toward the common good; often it seems that evil has won the day, and sometimes the leap of faith required to bridge chasms of disagreement seems to be a [desperate] choice.

And yet, even during our worst times, there are opportunities to facilitate human flourishing through the creative exchanges of ideas, authenticity, culture, and religious expression. The contemplative turn is necessary because the illusion of reality that frames our everyday life limits the in-breaking of Spirit and dims discernment. [2]

Holmes connects spiritual practice with the common good:

For me a spiritual practice that matters includes social renewal. Instead of blaming others about the state of our union, instead of blaming one political party or another, we can reflect on our own complicity and support of systems that abandoned the poor, warehoused our children in failing schools, and failed to provide adequate health care. As a spiritual practice, we can wake up to the possibility of building a new order. We can improvise those possibilities; try them out in the creative microcosm of a shared public life, realizing that our way of life could be improved so that all members of society thrive….

I quote from an article I wrote titled “Still on the Journey”: I believe that as a spiritual practice we can imagine and create “a political system responsive to the people and respectful of global neighbors, a health system that is comprehensive in scope and not profit driven, an educational system shaped by innovation, improvisation, technology, and practicality.” [3] Can we be honest now about what is not working? Can we re-envision new options? I believe that we can, if we want to. [4]

One of the things loved most about traveling is getting to understand the uniqueness of other cultures. As Wayfinding Women LTD prepares for a month in Scandinavia (Tromso & Lyngen, Norway and Copenhagen, Denmark) I’ve been following Helen Russell who just moved back to the UK after spending 12 years in Denmark. I have been sharing her blog with those joining me on retreat because Helen writes about the differences in Danish culture in a truly fascinating and entertaining way.

Today she talks about the Danish happiness differential. If you’d enjoy learning more about Danish life, I highly recommend reading a few of her blogs. (Especially if you would enjoy her stories of what it’s like to raise mini-Vikings, the difference of Danish royalty, and things like Danish failure beer)

Happy Friday, all! ❤️

The happiness-inequality equation, bowing to no one, why I'm no longer impressed by flash cars but how the first frost and an autumn sunrise can take my breath away

Ahhh, Sundays 😍
David and I are having a Lenny. (or Lenny, the Lion…or “Lie In” - David’s rhyming pun based on a ventriloquist dummy from black and white TV times)

Listening to audible Shane Parrish’s “The Great Mental Models - The Simple Tools That Explain the World”, while researching/planning our Christmas/New Year in Belgium 🎄

Totally distracted and now planning the Wayfinding Women Belgium retreat 🥳

Did you know there are 3000 castles in Belgium? And there are at least 16 castles where you can STAY! 😳

Who is up for a night (or more) in BELGIAN CASTLE and full immersion into the BEST CHOCOLATE in the world? 😉

Get on the FTK list…pretty sure this will be happening in 2026
