The good news is: it shouldn’t be painful.

Microsuction can feel like a small vacuum in your ear — it can be a little loud and at times slightly uncomfortable, but it should not be painful.

If you do feel any pain or discomfort, it’s important to let me know straight away. The settings can be adjusted and the procedure adapted to keep you comfortable throughout.

Every appointment includes a full assessment first, ensuring treatment is appropriate before proceeding.

If you’re feeling unsure or a little nervous — you’re not alone. Here’s a simple breakdown of what happens during your visit:

We’ll chat about your current symptoms and medical history regarding your ears to make sure treatment is safe for you.

2️⃣ Ear examination

Using an autoscope, I’ll gently look inside your ear to assess wax build-up.

3️⃣ Wax softening (if needed)

I may use an olive oil spray to help soften the wax, making removal more comfortable and effective.

4️⃣ Safe removal

Using a gentle, precise technique (such as microsuction), the wax is removed comfortably.

5️⃣ Aftercare advice

You’ll get simple tips to keep your ears healthy and prevent future build-up.

Most appointments take around 20–30 minutes
