It is now almost two weeks since TDs and Senators from Clare, Limerick and North Tipperary met with Minister for Health Jennifer Carroll MacNeill to discuss the HIQA report and its significant recommendations for the future of healthcare and hospital services in the Mid-West.

Despite the seriousness of what was discussed, no joint statement or clear update has been issued.

𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗱𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗹𝘆.
We are launching a public survey with direct questions on the future of healthcare in the Mid-West. The findings will be sent in full to the Minister and to every political representative involved in these decisions.

🎄 𝗠𝗶𝗱 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿 - 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟳🎄

The Campaign kept going through Covid supporting our nursing homes, hospitals etc by raising funds and distributing much needed supplies.
Volunteers were organised who helped make masks, sanitiser was bulk bought and dispensed in smaller bottles, PPE sourced and distributed. Volunteer drivers and motor cyclists across the region helped in the effort.

We don't need an upgrade of Ennis Hospital. we need a new purpose built hospital with an Emergency Department accessible to the population of Clare.
Many people from around the county North, West, East, and South and Limerick regularly travel to University Hospital Galway. This is something we have been aware of for years but yet again it is something that is ignored.

The population of Clare was 127,419 in 2022 so we can predict by now it is much higher.
