Damaged incisor cap removed from a rising 3yo pony recently.
This was a premature extraction as this tooth would *normally* not be shed until around 4 and a half years old, when the root would be shorter and tooth would likely fall out by itself.
However, this pony had sustained some type of injury leaving the cap root exposed, loose, and packing food which was allowing a nice breeding ground for bacteria, hence needed to be removed. She'll be much more comfortable now! 😌
Work is DONE for Feb! 😲 don't know where the weeks are going! My books are so busy atm so please get in touch sooner rather than later if you'd like an appointment within a certain time frame, so that I can do my best to accommodate you and your horses 🐎
Thank you as always to my amazing clients who keep me so busy! It's been a great start to the year and the days are finally getting a little brighter!!

Some work fun lately! 🤪

A large, abnormally placed wolf tooth which I found lingually placed along the 406! 👀 (not where we typically expect a wolf tooth hence it hadn't previously been spotted when this horse was treated elsewhere in the past)

Some long curved root wolf teeth, and some other huge ones I removed from a young cob, lastly... all of the caps!!

It's been a hectic femonths again and my wait lists are growing for both dental and physio appts! Advanced booking helps a lot to avoid disappointment and helps me to be more organised tpo and work most efficiently with my time..... so... get booking sooner rather than later!

August is set to be a great one, it makes me really happy to look after as many of your horses as I can, and I hate letting people down but I do need to be realistic with my bookings as I am a one woman show and gotta keep myself in one piece. 🤣👀✨️ so I thank you all for your business and for ur patience 🙏🏼

A great day was had at yesterday for their annual Open Day where I gave a quick talk on the importance of routine dental care for our horses. Thanks to Priscilla and the Diamond's family for inviting me. 🐎 🦷
Was such a lovely get together of horsey crew to chat all things equine health, breeding and Connemara ponies! 😍 and getting to see their beautiful Stallions strutting their stuff! Can't wait for next year. 🙂
Thanks to Mel .photography for the fab candid shots pics 1 and 3! 🥰

Duno how I haven't posted since JULY! But I've been really busy working away behind the scenes treating horses, continuing my learning, and doing a dissertation! 🤓😬 Work's been full of lovely moments like this and I'm so grateful to all my clients and their lovely horses for trusting me and my work. 🙏🏼

Last week was a whirlwind of a LOT of work split between my own lovely clients half of the week, and teaching Pony camps with Shauna at for the other half!
Thanks to the gang of great kids we had for camps for being so attentive and keen to learn!
Another highlight of last week for me were several bodywork/energy work sessions with some horses who were just so interesting to work with and really shared a lot with me amd trusted me to help. I am blessed to do the work that I do!
This week I'm in the UK continuing my Equine Physio studies and learning! I am definitely feeling tired, and mostly missing normal routine as I'm an awful creature of habit... but how lucky am I to have a life full of all of the horsey work things!? This is what pushes me through the mayhem! 😄🐎❤
Wishing everyone a great week! My books for the next few weeks are BUSY so please get in touch sooner rather than later for appts to avoid disappointment. 🙂

Fun from work today. 🦷👌🏼
210 molar extraction on a stallion who was having some issues eating.
His new owner thankfully decided to have his teeth checked ASAP and was aware he was possibly never seen by a Dental Technician before. (Worth noting that all of this horses dental issues would have been completely avoidable had he had routine dentistry in his past home.)
A large 309 wedge on the lower arcade of the teeth had loosened the 210 and caused diastemas and food packing in between the 209 and 210 teeth. This further compromised the stability of the 210 making it very mobile and uncomfortable.
Removing it, along with removal of some very sharp enamel points that were causing buccal laceration, and some staged corrections on the 309 wedge and 306/406 ramps.. Will make this stallion MUCH more comfortable in his mouth and able to eat without pain.
Incisor balancing and canine reductions were also performed on this boy to help improve his occlusion and reduce pressure on the TMJ.
I will follow up with this guy again to do some further corrections in several months. 🐎💞🙃
