Hi all
Well I have the following idea for the Feb challenge kicking off on Monday 1st Feb
It’s to do 30 min exercise per day (running, proper brisk walking, HIT sessions etc). Doesn’t include steps done in a day or normal walking around!
So I’m going to send my usual plans for the week on Sunday evening which will include my normal running plans for Tuesday/Thursday/Sunday, I am also going to include other sessions such as HIT, Core, sprints, on the other days.
They are just guides and may be useful for those wanting a plan in place for everyday to follow but as long as you get 30 minutes in each day!
All you have to do is just put on this group “30 min done, followed plan or insert what you done, such as walked 30min etc”
The more the merrier that do this the better so don’t keep it a secret
1st week will be put up on Sunday evening

Well done to Stephen Mccaffery on my 5k programme, he went from 23.53 at the start of November down to 21.11 just before Christmas.
His goal was to get u set 23 minutes, which quickly changed to sub 22 minutes
The focus was on quality rather than quantity with a mixture of speed/endurance/hills twice a week, a long run on Sunday (max 1 hour jog at easy pace) with an easy 5k thrown in so only 4 sessions per week.
He had goal times to achieve on each session which he surpassed and reaped the benefits.
Not always about loads of miles but focus on a specific plan aimed at your goal is more achievable
His next programme is sub 21 and see where it goes.

Operation Transformation starts this Tuesday 28th Jan in Hollymount.
Martina is taking initial measurements on Tuesday from 6pm and will be there till 8pm.
She will take your details and add you to our Operation Transformation WhatsApp group, she will also have hand out sheets with advice on healthy eating, eating diary for the week and other advice to help you through this program.
We will have a group session on Wednesday 29th Jan starting at 7pm in Hollymount where will discuss training plans and have an outside session focused on walking.
You don’t have to run if you don’t want to so don’t let that be a barrier.
You will get weekly training plans focused on walking or jogging plus exercises you can do at home.

Great turnout and effort with out HIT and core session this evening in Hollymount.
Tough but rewarding session so the rewards will be reaped over next few sessions.
We have the couch to 5k group session on again this Friday evening at 7 so if you couldn’t make Tuesdays session come on over on Friday

Our Fitnutz runners are going from strength to strength, we have runners doing anything from 5k up to half marathons, with training focusing on the upcoming enniscorthy 10k, curracloe school 5k and Castlebridge school 5k.
Every week we have 2 sessions with weekly plans.
The craic and banter is great but the effort is mighty and shows in the results
If you want to get involved just pm me, it’s only €5 for the week

No matter what you want to achieve it can be done and as Eliud Kipchoge keeps saying there is no limits to what any human can achieve, so true but we keep putting limits on our own ability. Anything is possible!

Next week we start Operation transformation which focuses on getting fit, getting healthy and loosing weight, more posts to follow
Martina, our qualified nutritionist and personal trainer will be be taking measurements each week, giving advice on nutrition and setting weekly plans including group sessions, it’s not all about running so don’t let that be a barrier.

Well done to all our couch to 5k participants this evening that got on the road to getting a 5k done in 8 weeks.
15 people took the plunge and done brilliantly on the first night, we go again this Friday at 7pm in Hollymount.
If you missed out and still want to get involved come over on Friday.
There was brilliant encouragement from our Fitnutz group to the beginners and as was highlighted the running group started at exactly the same level as outperform beginners.
We now have close to 40 running every week with a “can do will do” attitude

Couch to 5k programme starts this Tuesday 21st Jan @ 7pm in Shelmalier GAA pitch in Hollymount.
Come over bout 6.45 to sign up, park down at the bottom in front of the complex and come in to dressing room 3 beside the Astro arena
