Killarney/Tralee Podiatry Clinic

Killarney/Tralee Podiatry Clinic Killarney/Tralee Podiatry Clinic is a modern practice specialising in prevention, diagnosis and tre Providing you with the comfort of choice.

Our approach to podiatry is focused on providing the very best experience for you. If you want to achieve improved foot function, our specialist podiatrists will recommend specific options to suit your individual needs. Why see a Podiatrist? Podiatrists are university trained health professionals who deal exclusively with the feet and the lower limbs. This includes areas such as pediatrics (children),ingrown toenails, diabetes, sports injuries, structural problems, elderly and general foot care. It's easy to underestimate the role of our feet, but when we think about how long we spend on our feet all day, it's not hard to see why it's so important to look after this part of our body. It is estimated that our feet will carry us about 128,000 kilometers over a lifetime... now that's impressive! It's also important to remember that pain in other parts of the body can be related to the feet. For example, knee, hip and back pain is sometimes relieved by treating the mechanics of your feet. As well as a comprehensive range of treatments we also offer orthotics and footwear from only our most trusted brands. Killarney:(Opposite the New Tescos)

Adolescents are our biggest cohort of biomechanical assessments where alignment problems really come to the forefront when sports are involved ⚽️ 🏃‍♀️ 🏀 🏑 🥅
If there are secondary problems arising during sport. It’s pretty much guaranteed that an alignment issue/weakness is part of the problem.
The sooner a child is assessed for any weaknesses, the quicker the outcome!
Patient education is key 👣 And that’s one thing we are good at!

Patient : Do I have flat feet?
Podiatrist :Jesus you need to go to spectsavers 🤣

We like the honesty policy with patients - but in all fairness patient education is our main objective for any Biomechanical Assessment patient. We are in business 23 years and have seen how gait affects people’s lives as we progress through the ageing process. If we can educate and prevent - then we are on the pigs back with slowing down the ageing process to maintain a healthy balanced active lifestyle 👣

FLAT FEET
We see alignment weaknesses all day every day in clinic - we are firm advocates of an overall healthy lifestyle where mobility is kept in check. Strength and conditioning is an integral part of our treatment plan for all biomechanics patients.
We fix the structural issues and in conjunction with Personal Training to build power - the outcome long term is very successful.

By implementing both we technically stop you getting older quicker! 👣

We see patients day in day out with knee, hip and back issues. From a Podiatry perspective, you feet are your foundation and if that foundation is unstable -it has a knock on affect. Joints will wear and become inflamed because of faulty tracking.
Everyone ideally should have their tracking checked as a process of elimination and also as a preventative measure to ensure our gait is maintained for when we get older.
Bad tracking makes you get older quicker! 👣
