Today’s Full Moon falls in sidereal Libra (tropical Scorpio) at 5.55pm GMT.

In Vedic Astrology [Jyotish] the moon is always transiting one of 27 lunar mansions, or nakshatras.

This full moon’s nakshatra falls in Visākha – the star of purpose.

There are a few symbols associated with Visākha, one being the archway.

This represents moving into a new threshold due to growth and righteous success.

The concept of the liminal space comes to mind, where we move from one threshold to another after a period of struggle. I have some older posts about this.

It is also represented by the potter’s wheel, representing the requirement for focus, discipline & patience in your purpose.

As Jupiter, the planet of wisdom and expansion rules this nakshatra, you are asked to focus your goals and intentions on your dharma, or evolution, rather than success for the sake of it or purely personal gain.

Visākha is ruled by the dual deities of Indra & Agni, the king of gods and the god of fire, asking you to move forth with courage and refine, cutting away distractions + allowing yourself to focus and cultivate discipline.

The Libra-Aries axis asks that you balance relationships with independence.

This is a time for re-aligning with your purpose, bringing depth to your goals rather than focusing on personal gain and having the courage to move forward with the fire energy and courage of the ruling deities.

Basically, cut the sh*t and get going with what gives you fulfilment + will be beneficial for others.

Coming to your senses is simple, but not easy

It does not involve lots of complicated practices

The simplicity & natural aspect to them can be surprising

It’s the knowing where or how to start that can be a barrier

It involves a slow unfurling of yourself through many different means that you, your being, feels drawn to

If you are going to build this connection under the guidance of another person, make sure they have done a lot of work on this themselves already

Hard to know this from IG posts I know

But also, maybe experiment with things that you are inclined to do that someone else hasn’t shown you

Maybe visit a place on your own that you feel drawn to (safely of course)

What are things you would do if no one was watching or it wouldn’t be found out?

Could you start there?

Look at this.

This beautiful complex to me awe-inspiring system that we generally only talk about in terms of health + emotional benefits.

Yes. Having a resilient nervous system is very important for navigating those reactionary/frozen patterns + for our long term health, contentedness + ability to ride the waves.

But really, it goes deeper than all of that but it doesn’t package so well on the gram.

Especially in Ireland where anything viewed as different, or affiliated with religion/spirituality (not the same thing) is quickly shamed & shut down.

However.

Nervous system health IS soul health.

Why?

A nervous system that YOU are in tune with, that YOU understand, that YOU look after when you inevitably go off balance, has trust.

Trust with yourself.

And with trust, comes the messy beauty of who you are.

That’s your soul & it won’t set you wrong.

Eastern spiritual practices including yoga asana, meditation, chanting, devotion + community influence your nervous system so you can build that trust to lean into your soul.

I hesitate a lot to mention this on social media because it puts people off.

But to be as much of an ethical practitioner as I can be with my present awareness and amongst all this wellness garb (guilty of this in the past) it doesn’t feel right not to share what a yoga practice actually is, and what those who practice know it to be.

And I’m tired of all the populist rubbish on wellness that is created by marketers, but which we have to admit is reflected in stats on what is currently on people’s minds.

But maybe that’s because we don’t talk about the other stuff?

So.

If you want to build trust in yourself through your body and let your soul speak to you, come and practice.

It will change how your relate to yourself, others, and the environment that sustains you.

It will also positively impact your l!b!do too 👀 another essential aspect of our wellbeing we’re nervous to talk about.
