When there’s no movement, no noise, no outward focus, what’s been held underneath can rise into awareness.

Breath-holding can develop because of experiences we’ve had.

At some point, the system decided that pausing was safer than moving.

That pattern can stay active long after the original threat has passed.

Under stress, conflict, or intensity, the breath tightens, the body braces.

This matters because it limits capacity.

But capacity can be built.

Change begins by noticing the pause and deliberately restoring breath, allowing the system to update to the present moment.
