After breakfast with my hubby on Friday morning, I headed back to the Beara Peninsula, second time in a month.

We were down for Valentine’s and it was gorgeous but this time I went on my own.

A few days in Dzogchen Beara on a retreat with people from all over Ireland & Europe.
Beautiful food, really interesting conversations & views that just make you stop.

It gave me space to slow down & check in with myself…

Who am I now?
What’s next?

I’m very good at being busy.

After years of surviving, doing, achieving… I had one of those quiet realisations,
I’m not chasing the same things anymore.

There was a time in my life I wouldn’t have been able to sit in stillness like that… now I seek it & love it!

This was my first proper introduction to Buddhist philosophy & I’ve come away with more questions than answers 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣 yet great clarity.

If you’re looking for somewhere to step out of the noise for a few days, this place is really special.

Now… let’s see how long the zen lasts 🤣💞 ⌛️

Preparing for something very special behind the scenes…..

On 29th April, we host our very first Misneach Day Retreat, created exclusively for our clinical team.

A day to slow down, reconnect, and restore the therapists who spend their days holding space for others.

Yesterday, this walk fed my soul.
Dogs in their element, bog air, horses nearby, and a deep sense of ahhh… here.

This is the spirit behind Misneach Retreats —
slowing down enough to remember yourself.

St Brigid’s Day Sunset Dip | Lough Owel

In honour of St Brigid’s Day, a time traditionally linked with new beginnings, light returning, healing and renewal. I’m hosting a gentle gathering in nature at sunset at the beautiful, scenic Lough Owel (near Mullingar).

St Brigid represents strength, compassion and resilience and it feels so meaningful that her day is now being openly acknowledged again.

So we’ll mark it together in the Misneach way: connection • belonging • presence.

We’ll meet at the lake, take a moment to arrive, and begin with an optional sage smudging ceremony to set intentions for the season ahead.

Then, as the sun sets, anyone who feels called can join us for a cold water dip.

We’ll finish by warming up together and sipping a warm drink from our flasks, with a gentle invitation to journal afterwards, taking time to reflect on what you’re welcoming in.

This is not a retreat and there is no cost, just a community gathering in nature for anyone who feels drawn to it.

📍 Location: Lough Owel, Mullingar (Diving board area)
🗓 Date: Sunday 1st Feb
🕰 Time: Meet at 3pm (dip at sunset)

✅ Bring:
• towel + warm clothes / robe
• hat + gloves
• a flask with a warm drink
• water shoes (if you have them)
• journal + pen (optional, for afterwards)
• a friend if you’d like

⚠️ Important: This is a self-led outdoor dip. Participation is entirely at your own risk. Please only join if cold water dipping is safe for you, don’t enter the water alone, and always stay within your comfort level.

If you feel called to join us, comment below “I’m in” or send me a DM.

Many years ago, after completing my degree and before stepping into professional practice, I took part in a 10-day vision fast in Australia.

It was held by deeply skilled facilitators who guided us in nature with care, integrity, and respect. That experience offered insight, reflection, self-compassion, and connection in a way that stayed with me long after it ended.

Now, years later, I find myself preparing to hold retreat spaces of my own, this time on Irish land, which feels especially meaningful.

With trauma-informed training and over a decade of ethical psychotherapy practice, my intention is to offer a safe, contained space where people can step out of the busyness of everyday life, turn gently inward, and allow nature to reflect what they need.

These retreats are not about sharing trauma. They are about being in the presence of others who value depth, safety, and something more, a coming home to yourself.

Using time in nature, guided facilitation, ceremony, and ritual, the focus is on nourishment, nervous-system regulation, and reconnecting with inner resources.

The image above was created for a special group facilitation and reflects the kind of space I hold, intentional, respectful, and carefully grounded.

Quietly letting this vision unfold and seeing what Misneach Retreats 2026 brings for us all

Misneach means Courage, Courage to push forward through uncertainty ☘️
