It’s Oscar Day and we’re wishing the very best with his Best Actor nomination for .movie .

We were delighted to play a small part by crafting a special pair of shoes worn by Ethan in his portrayal of Lorenz Hart in Blue Moon.

Our shoes were designed to help achieve Lorenz's smaller stature. They were worn around Ethan’s shins while he stood in a trap door built into the set, creating the illusion that he was shorter than his fellow actors.

It was such a cool project that pushed us out of our comfort zone. Here are a few photos of our prototypes and the footwear as it moved through our workshop.

Single monk strap shoes are incredibly elegant footwear secured with a single strap. For convenience and comfort, the buckle is attached to a special elastic band, which allows the strap to maintain the same length without constant unfastening.
