Wishing you bright and joyous Diwali. Let its light to brighten up your heart and let your light to spread happiness to everyone around you! Happy Diwali!!! 💫🙌🪔 🙌💫
✨ Diwali is a Festival of Lights, celebrated by Hindus, Jains, Sikhs, and some Buddhist. Diwali symbolizes the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil, knowledge over ignorance.
✨ The word Diwali comes from the Sanskrit word deepavali, meaning "rows of lighted lamps”. During the Festival, people illuminate the interior and exterior of their homes, streets with diyas (oil lamps) and rangolis (colourful art circle patterns), they light candles and fireworks.
✨ For many people, celebration of Diwali is to honour Hindu goddess of wealth, Lakshmi. The lights and lamps are said to help Lakshmi find her way into people’s homes, bringing prosperity in the year to come!
✨ However, Diwali is also a celebration of many different legends and gods - In northern India, Hindus celebrate the return of the Prince Rama and his wife Sita to the city of Ayodhya, after defeating the evil king Ravana; In the region of Bengal people worship the goddess Kali, the destroyer of evil forces; In Nepal, people celebrate Lord Krishna’s victory over the wicked king Narakaasura.
✨ Beside traditional and religious celebrations Diwali is a time to gather with friends and family time to appreciate each other’s company while preparing for an abundant year ahead. It’s about celebrating the victory of light over the darkness in our world and simply being with the people we love.
