📍World Lipedema Congress: Exercise&Movement

This is possibly one of the areas that is lacking specialists worldwide. It is great to see the extensive work that has been put so far by the Italian team of Lipedema PTs. I'm proud to say that .scampini.fitness.over40 is my trainer and since working with her team I have made substantial progress in my strength and range of movements and I'm moving forward day by day.

I firstly like to thank Silvia and her team for the patience and perseverance with my own case considering all my Dysautonomia challenges. It wasn't easy for them but with personalized care anything is possible 🙌. Dysautonomia is a very common comorbidity amongst Lipedema patients with different degrees of it and it can make exercise almost close to impossible without flares.

Also a particular thanks to
For all the work he does for the Lipedema community and all the other wonderful trainers that continue to dedicate their career to study and understand Lipedema. 💜

📍Lipedema World Congress Findings : Part 1.

There is one thing ALL Lipedema practitioners agree on: Inflammatory is heavily involved in Lipedema. This was a topic highly discussed at the Lipedema World congress 2025. I have captured some interesting slides to give you a summarized overview:

1️⃣Dr. Karen Herbst from talked about Mast cells involvement in Lipedema in one of her current studies. She explains how this seems to be more common in advanced Lipedema stages and what testing is useful to assess mast cell issues. A topic close to my heart where I'm hugely involved professionally in my clinic.

2️⃣Dr. Nicholas Pennings talks about his experience with GLP-1s and refers to one of his patients that showed significant reduction in pain within 48 hrs of GLP-1 administration. He explains the importance of nutritional monitoring to prevent side effects and Sarcopenia.

3️⃣Dr. Wright explains his experience using GLP-1 for his Lipedema patients and the possible mechanism of actions and benefits.

4️⃣Dr. Paula Frederichi
Presents her study on the use of trans Resveratrol in patients with Lipedema as an inflammatory modulator showing very positive results.

5️⃣Dr. Simmarro explain the hypothalamic inflammation in Lipedema which can explain the signalling issues and leptin resistance in Lipedema. A very interesting work indeed that makes a lot of sense when we think about how GLP-1 is working to restore this signalling issue too.

We are going to expand on each one of these findings in more detail over the coming weeks.

✋Non negotiable for GLP*1 therapy success

If you are looking to maximize your results on a low dose/microdose GLP*1 there are certain things you need to consider which should be on your negotiable list.

1. Know your numbers. Hitting your protein goal daily is SO important alongside your overall fat intake. Fat is essential for hormonal health so cutting it out altogether is not going to bring you better results. But you need to keep a fine balance at each meal to avoid excessive slowing down of digestion which will create nausea and increase reflux episodes.

2. Support your digestion with simple techniques like eating slower, smaller meals and use supportive aids like Ginger&Artichokes which are going to help you make enough bile and digestive enzymes naturally. It is always best to stimulate this process naturally instead of taking digestive enzymes long term.

3. Address gut issues first!!! I cannot stress this enough. GLP*1 therapy will make you more prone to digestive issues so having a strong and robust digestive system is vital and non-negotiable. If digestion is sluggish everything else will be including hormones, energy and metabolism!!

Are you going to make this your non negotiable? Let me know in the comments 👇
