Fingal County Council's Strategic Vision for Swords is to create a sustainable new city. They have referred to Swords as an "emerging city" and project that the population of Swords will r

ise towards 100,000 by the year 2035. Swords is the home to a large retail and business park called Airside Retail and Business Park, on the southern fringe of the town, hosting many employers. East of the town, running parallel to Swords bypass, lies the large Swords Business Park. A little country town that has since morphed into a large satellite of Dublin City, Swords is literally up the road from Dublin Airport. With a major shopping centre, retail and business parks, this north County Dublin town is now a significant centre for commerce and an administrative capital for the area.

Ireland could be getting more bank holidays 👀

The Green Party and People Before Profit are calling for extra long weekends to bring Ireland closer to the EU average of 12 days off (we currently have 10).

Options being discussed include Good Friday or adding new dates in July, September or November.

The Fingal Quiet Streets Programme is open for community applications until Mon 20 April.

Now is an eggscellent time to recycle your electrical waste and used batteries!
Electrical items contain a complex mix of materials and depending on the product, over 90% of the raw materials can be recycled and reused.
ERP Ireland is also encouraging everyone to spring clean that junk drawer at home, gather up your used batteries, and recycle them at your local supermarket or recycling centre.
So hop to it this Easter - and remember: never bin electricals or batteries.
