Margaret Walsh Physical Therapy B.Sc

Margaret Walsh Physical Therapy B.Sc Physical Therapy and Pilates instructor Therapists use highly skilled, hands-on techniques to diagnose, prevent or treat underlying conditions and problems.

Physical therapy is an holistic and patient-centred approach focusing on the manual treatment of the soft tissue - muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia. It is based on health science principles and works alongside other health care practices. Physical therapy is founded on a tradition which recognises and values the healing properties of touch. It is proven as being very safe, non-invasive and is of course, drug free. Each treatment is individually tailored. The therapist, after carefully noting your history will consider psychological, social and environmental factors in devising a treatment plan and in suggesting appropriate changes to lifestyle, work practice or exercise.

When your period stops — it’s not a fitness win, it’s your body asking for help .

Amenorrhea is common in active women, especially when training hard and fuelling light — but it’s not normal.

Missing periods means low oestrogen, slower recovery, higher injury risk, and lower long-term performance.
Your body deserves better than burnout.

💡 If you’ve lost your cycle, it’s time to rest, refuel, and reach out for support.

💪🏻 Your period is a performance marker, not an inconvenience.

Save this for later — or share it with a friend / teammate who needs to see it. ❤️

So many messages .. this requires an update !

Firstly how brilliant is this that it’s getting some air time . And people are realising there is a problem with the system & not just their children lying to them !

Thanks to for bringing this nationwide, literally everyone is talking about it across the country , which is really fantastic.

But for real solution led change . We need to keep talking , gather reliable and valid data and get it to the policy makers so they can implement the change that benefits everyone .

I’ve been speaking with the minister for education Helen and she has assured me she is looking at it too . Which is brilliant.

Sometimes making changes like this can seem daunting and too big , especially when it’s something that has been accepted as the “norm” , but for the overall future of our children we must tackle it now .

Health professionals across all disciplines from nutrition to physiology all agree things could be done better .. which will in turn improve the education environment and our children’s health.

Keep talking and thanks ❤️

We’ve been told our hormones make us emotional, unpredictable, weak. 🤷🏻‍♀️

But here’s the truth:
Your cycle is a blueprint. And when you understand it, you unlock your power. ⚡

Tracking your menstrual cycle isn’t just for fertility — it’s a game-changer for your training, recovery, mood, and overall health.

From energy dips to strength peaks, PMS to power days — your body is giving you data every single day.

When you know what to look for, you can train and love your best life with your cycle, not against it.

Start simple: log your period, note your symptoms, spot patterns.

It’s not about perfection — it’s about awareness.

🩸 What’s been the most surprising thing you’ve learned from tracking your cycle?

🩸 I always ask my female clients about their menstrual cycle on their first consultation, regardless of their presenting symptoms. The information and conversation this opens up in my clinic can be invaluable to the outcome of the patients treatment, even if she thinks it’s strange I ask 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣

Food for 💭👇🏻

The Menstrual Cycle: A Vital Sign Across the Lifespan (Rosen Vollmar et al., published July 25, 2025 in The Lancet)

This comprehensive review argues that menstrual cycles—from menarche through menopause—should be treated as a clinical vital sign . It shows that cycle characteristics (length, regularity, flow, and symptoms) reflect not only reproductive health but also broader physiological and systemic wellness .

Irregular cycles, heavy bleeding, and symptom shifts can signal conditions like hormonal imbalance, thyroid disease, PCOS . The paper urges clinicians to routinely document menstrual data—just like blood pressure or heart rate—for effective prevention and earlier diagnosis .

But even for females to understand their own unique patterns can be invaluable. We only even learn how to track it for either getting pregnant or avoiding pregnancy… isn’t that crazy ?????

I’d love to know if think this is worthwhile to track your cycle ….
