🌸 October is Menopause Awareness Month 🌸

At Dublin Well Woman Centre, we’re raising awareness of menopause — a completely natural stage of life that can bring real physical and emotional changes.

Common symptoms can include:
🔥 Hot flushes and night sweats
💤 Sleep problems and fatigue
💭 Brain fog and memory lapses
😔 Mood changes or low mood
💔 Vaginal dryness or discomfort
💆‍♀️ Joint aches, weight changes and reduced libido

Every woman’s experience is different — some may have a few symptoms, others many. What’s important is that you don’t have to manage them alone.

Our doctors and nurses offer expert advice, treatment options and compassionate care to help you feel like yourself again.

💜 Let’s talk openly about menopause.
💜 Let’s support one another through it.
💜 Let’s make sure every woman gets the care she deserves.

HPV cervical screening is a free, quick test and one of the best ways to protect yourself from cervical cancer. It looks for high-risk types of HPV that cause most cervical cancers.

If you are aged 30 to 65 you will usually have a cervical screening test every 5 years. It is safe to wait for 5 years between tests if you do not have a HPV infection. This is because:
- your risk of developing cell changes is very low
- a test showing that you do not have HPV is more reliable than a test finding normal cells.
- in most cases, it takes 15 to 20 years for a HPV infection to develop into cervical cancer.

HPV screening is not a test for cancer, it's a test to see if you are at risk of developing cancer. Even if you go for regular screening, you may still develop cervical cancer. Screening does not find all cervical cancers (no screening test is 100% accurate) and cancer can develop between your screenings.

Visit our website to find out more about choosing HPV cervical screening, make sure that you're on the register and your contact details are correct: https://www2.hse.ie/conditions/cervical-screening/why-go/what-cervical-screening-is/ -limitations
