Most people get out of the sauna just before it starts getting interesting.

The first few minutes are just your body adjusting. Heart rate rises. Core temperature starts climbing. You settle in.

Then the shift happens.

You start to sweat. Your breathing changes. Your body starts working harder than it looks. Stay with it, and that’s often where people begin to properly switch off.

Then comes the cold.

That sharp inhale. That reset. That clearer head afterwards.

It’s not about chasing time or trying to be a hero in the heat. It’s about learning your own limit, staying controlled, and coming back again.

Save this for your next session, or send it to someone who keeps saying they’re going to try Sauna Social.

Weekend slots are open.

We’d love to know the other places in Ireland getting this right too. If you have a favourite sauna, or know one that really understands atmosphere, care, and community, tag them below and let’s connect…

Six months into Sauna Social, that is probably the biggest lesson we’ve learned.

People feel when a place is genuine. They feel the welcome, the energy, the standards, and the care behind the experience.

For us, it has never just been about heat and cold. It always comes back to people.

Huge thanks to every customer and staff member who has helped shape Sauna Social so far.

Here’s to many more!

Slow Mondays.

A little reminder that we’re open every Monday, and all sessions are just €15 off peak.

A quieter start to the week, a chance to reset, and probably the best way to shake off the weekend and get your head right for Monday.

Book in, ease into the week, and come warm up with us.

People often ask what keeps Sauna Social so consistent.

Truthfully, it is never down to one person, one shift, or one quick decision made in isolation.

We meet as a team. We talk things through properly. Changes, ideas, problems, feedback, all of it gets looked at from every angle, from the ground up. Everybody has a voice.

Everybody feeds in. That matters to us, because the best decisions are rarely made from the top down. They are made when the people living it every day get to shape it.

A lot of our team chats usually happen over food, a coffee, or in between the madness, but the point is always the same. We are constantly asking ourselves how things feel for the people coming through the gate. Does this improve the experience. Does it make sense. Does it add to what Sauna Social is supposed to be.

We keep each other accountable. We hold standards as a collective. We listen closely to what our customers tell us, whether that is in person, in a review, in a message, or in passing conversation after a session. Nothing gets ignored. The good tells us what to protect. The constructive tells us where we can get better.

And I think that is where the magic really is. When you have a team that genuinely cares, and customers who care enough to feed back, support, encourage and shape the place with us, it becomes much more than a business. It becomes a space with real feeling behind it.

We are very lucky with the people around us. A brilliant team. Brilliant customers. And when those two come together, it is what makes Sauna Social feel like Sauna Social.

Guys, our breathwork sessions are back.

From the beginning, we’ve always wanted Sauna Social to feel calm, welcoming and accessible to everybody. These sessions have always been a big part of that.

We didn’t get one run in February, so we’re catching up with one in March and hoping to get back to running them monthly again, as we did last year. Every time we’ve held these sessions, the response has been brilliant. So many of the people who first came along to a beginner session are now regulars, or left with a much stronger understanding of how to connect breath, body, heat and cold in a way that feels supportive rather than overwhelming.

Andrea from Breath and Body will be guiding this one, and if you’ve been curious about breathwork, don’t let that put you off. This is not about anything intense. It’s a calm, grounded session with gentle guidance, support in the baths, and space to slow down and settle into the experience.

We close off the space for two hours, with a full 90 minute guided session, so it always feels that little bit more special. There’s a lovely sense of community to these mornings, and they tend to have a very different feel to a normal session.

If you’ve been thinking about trying Sauna Social but weren’t quite sure where to start, this is the ideal introduction. And if you’re already a regular and want to build a stronger connection with your breath, feel more grounded in the cold, or simply experience the space in a different way, this is for you too.

A few of you have been waiting for these to come back.

Tag a friend who’d love this, or send it to someone who’s been meaning to give it a go.

One of the questions we’ve been getting a lot lately is whether the hot tub needs to be booked separately.

The answer is no. It’s included as part of your session.

We added it as an extra for our customers, especially for those of you who had been asking for it since we opened.

Some people love the cold baths, some prefer to keep things slower and more relaxing, and some just want to sit in the heat and have a chat.

That’s all welcome here.

A couple of simple things to keep in mind:
the hot tub fits around 4 to 5 people comfortably, so just use a bit of awareness with it.

If you’ve had a good spell in there and others are waiting, be mindful and let everyone get a turn.

Same goes for numbers, if it looks full, give it a minute and let the space flow naturally.

And as always, if you’re feeling unwell or have any underlying medical conditions, please use your own judgement and take care before using the hot tub.

We’re delighted to see how well it’s been received already, and we’ve more upgrades planned in time.

For now, enjoy it for what it is, a little extra warmth, a little extra comfort, and another nice part of the Sauna Social experience.

If you’ve used it already, let us know below what you thought. Was it a good addition?

Every kind word genuinely means the world to us.

When people take the time to share their experience, it does more than brighten our day. It helps a young local business grow, helps new guests feel confident booking in, and reminds our whole team that the care they put in is felt.

Reading reviews like these, about the atmosphere, the cleanliness, the welcome, and the small details, never gets old.

We’re especially grateful when names are mentioned too. James and Lorraine, thank you for the warmth, calm and care you bring to Sauna Social. It never goes unnoticed. And to the rest of our team, thank you for helping create the kind of space people want to come back to.

If you’ve visited us and enjoyed your time here, a Google review is one of the nicest ways you can support us. And if one of the team made your visit that bit better, feel free to mention them by name. It means a lot.

Thank you for being part of Sauna Social.

A sad day at Sauna Social as Conor moves on.

Conor has been a huge part of the place from the very beginning and a real favourite with so many of our customers. He brought such great energy, warmth and character to Sauna Social, and he’ll be very hard to replace.

If you’re booked in with us today, make sure to say goodbye and wish him well. And who knows, you might just see Conor back with us again sometime soon.

Thanks for everything, Conor. You’ll always be welcome at Sauna Social.

A gentle reminder to our community.

For the comfort, safety, and wellbeing of everyone at Sauna Social, personal sauna oils and scents are not permitted in our shared sauna space.

We know that many people enjoy adding scent to their sauna experience, but as a privately operated shared space, we have to consider fire safety, guest comfort, health, and staff welfare at all times.

We do offer sauna-safe scents and mint crystals, and our team is always happy to help if you’d like to add them to your session.

Thank you to everyone who continues to respect the space, the staff, and the wider community by following our guidelines.

This is Sauna Social in Waterford.

A social sauna and cold plunge space designed around recovery, but just as much around conversation.

The idea was simple. Create a place where people can move between heat and cold, slow down a bit, and actually sit and talk. Catch up with friends, meet new people, or just take a bit of time out.

The saunas are fully insulated, the plunge baths are filtered and chilled, and everything is built to make the experience easy for first timers as well as regular sauna users.

We also run guided breathwork sessions, and the whole place is built to feel welcoming and relaxed rather than intimidating.

If you’re ever down this way in Waterford, it’s well worth trying.
