Breaking news – Gynica is entering the menopause space!
We are thrilled to be recognized by Calcalist כלכליסט as one of the innovative Israeli companies taking innovation to women’s health to address women’s menopause-related health issues that severely impact their quality of life.
About 1.2 billion women (a seventh of the world's population) are suffering from a range of medical symptoms related to one of the stages of menopause such as hot flashes, joint and muscle pain, nervousness, anxiety, depression, severe sleep disorders, calcium leakage, pelvic prolapse, dryness and vaginal burning, pain during in*******se, and difficulty in memory and concentration – according to a McKinsey & Company report.
The menopause market was already worth $15 billion annually in 2020 and it’s expected to grow by 6% every year, according to Grand View Research. However, menopause has not received merely enough attention from the medical and research community, and women are paying the price.
We are changing that now, introducing cannabis innovation into the menopause market!
Led by our VP of R&D Dr. Sari Prutchi Sagiv, Gynica began last year to develop the GYN501 solution which caters to the physical and mental needs of women going through menopause. "The female reproductive system is the organ with the most cannabis receptors in the human body after the brain, so the therapeutic potential is huge", she says. “Both cannabis and women's health are taboos that have been stigmatized for years and years, so I have been working to break these stigmas”, says our Co-Founder and CEO Yotam Hod
