Save the Date: ILANIT 2026 in Eilat.
Every three years, ILANIT unites Israel's biomedical scientific community for a unique gathering of discovery, collaboration, and innovation. From February 23-26, 2026, 3000 researchers, MDs, graduate students, and postdocs will come together in Eilat.

This multidisciplinary scientific celebration will feature thought-provoking discussions, groundbreaking discoveries, and valuable networking. ILANIT 2026 will integrate 42 national societies, including the Israeli Society for Neuroscience and the Israeli societies for Translational Medicine and Dental Research, that will have their annual meetings exclusively as part of ILANIT 2026.

The FISEB board and the organizing committee of the ILANIT/FISEB 2026 Conference met this week with the presidents of the FISEB societies to officially kick off preparations for the conference. It was a pleasure meeting everyone involved, and we are excited by the successful collaboration from all contributors as we work together toward a successful and excelling conference. Congratulations to the Ephraim Katzir Prize Winners, Prof. Shulamit Michaeli and Prof. Yehudit Bergman!

On behalf of the Weizmann Institute and the FIISEB selection committee, it is with great honor and pleasure to present this prestigious award to these two groundbreaking women in science.

Thank you to Prof. Shulamit Michaeli (Bar-Ilan University) for pioneering and leading groundbreaking research on RNA biology and Prof. Yehudit Bergman (The Hebrew University of Jerusalem) for being at the forefront of pioneering and innovative research on gene regulation.

: Our day began with insightful parallel morning sessions, followed by a coffee break, the exhibition, and a lecture from plenary speaker Donald E. Ingber on Human Organ Chips for Disease Modeling, Drug Development, and Personalized Medicine at the Herods Hotel Eilat.

This afternoon, we celebrate the accomplishments of our 2023 Katzir Award recipients, Prof. Shulamit Michaeli and Prof. Yehudit Bergman – two pioneers who have made significant contributions to the scientific community.

Flash talk prizes will be announced followed by conference closing remarks.

The afternoon will continue with a satellite session: Mind the Gap – How can we crush the gap between the exact sciences and the art of medicine – which will take place from 14:00-18:00 at the Dan Hotel.

Looking forward to a fruitful last day of ILANIT 2023!

It’s been a full day with quite an extensive program, but since we’re together at , the celebration never ends!
