YogaOr A healthy lifestyle has always been a way of life for me. Along with my yoga training, I have years and years of fitness and health knowledge. Namaste,
Liat

I am here to combine those two passions and share it with the ladies of Givat Shmuel! See you on the mat! I have always LOVED health and fitness. I began my journey as a gym rat, workout-a-holic, BRING ON THE CHALLENGE type of gal. But once I discovered yoga I was introduced to a whole new level of fitness challenges. I never imagined that "slow and controlled" could create so much sweat and give me such a darn good workout! And the benefits are endless! I get an incredible workout, all while detoxing my body and distressing! As mentioned, I love a challenge. I treat my yoga practice the same as I treat my gym experience: in search of a challenge. I am always trying new things with my practice, and finding new creative flows to keep me on my toes. No matter why you are choosing to practice yoga, I most likely have a class that will suit your needs. Check out my monthly class schedule to choose your yoga journey! Along with weekly classes, I hope to have monthly workshops that will include topics such as:
*Pre/Post Natal
*Healthy food meal planning
*Kids yoga
*Couples yoga ;)

So stay tuned!

People who know me, know that i use a holistic approach. Yes, I love yoga (and running, and working out, and the gym, and anything fitness related), but none of that matters if it is not combined with a healthy lifestyle. Healthy eating is the biggest component in that healthy lifestyle. Having a healthy mind, is pretty up there too.

So, next time you walk into a yoga class (or really your next physical endeavor) make sure you carry through holistically by choosing the right food to nourish your body and mind. make sure you choose a whole grain, combined with a complete protein at every meal, and alternate between, protein, healthy fats, and whole grains throughout the day to ensure your body is receiving all of the necessary nutrients.

can help with all your nutrition needs! Message us to learn more about YogarOr's upcoming nutrition guidance workshop!!

Yoga has so many benefits: it helps with stress and anxiety, promotes flexibility, and helps strengthen the core. What people don't often associate with yoga is weight loss. But I'm here to tell you that yoga and weight loss do go hand and hand!

There are many different types of yoga, and not every type will help you in your weight loss journey. It's all about choosing the right style. What you should look for is a yoga class that will warm up your core, and incorporate a lot of strength movements with a constant flow. A great example would be a power vinyasa class, where one can burn 500 calories or more in just an hour practice!

This DOES NOT mean that restoritive yoga classes can't help with weight loss as well! A study at the University of California showed that overweight women who attended a regular, slow flow yoga class, lost approx. 3 pounds and 5 inches of fat over a 6 month period. This is because yoga is proven to help reduce stress levels, and in turn decreases the stress hormone, cortisol. Less cortisol= more serotonin, aka the love hormone which is said to make people feel happier, healthier, and ultimately thinner!

I think that's convincing enough! go get your yoga on, and watch the fat melt away!

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Hi everyone! My name is Liat Buckman. I am a certified Yoga Alliance yoga instructor with training from Kinneret Yoga and Wingate Institute, and years of fitness knowledge. I have experience teaching Vinyasa, Hatha, beginners and prenatal yoga, but the world of health fitness in general has always been my passion. From a young age, I made healthy living a lifestyle, and the yoga part fit right in. I love anything and everything that has to do with sweating and challenging my body. I’ve been told that this passion of mine is a bit contagious..

I live in Giv`at Shmuel, Israel where I run weekly yoga classes, and offer one on one yoga sessions. In addition to my yoga experience, I am extremely well versed in nutrition, and am here to offer nutrition counseling for those who wish to meet with me.

If you come practice with me, you may even be able to play with my adorable baby girl ;) just an extra perk!

Feel free to be in touch anytime!
Waiting for you on the mat ✌🏻

Proper nutrition is key right before a fast. People fill their plates with tons and tons of food, thinking that the more they eat, the less hungry they'll be throughout the fast. But your body is going to digest whatever you choose to eat within a few hours of eating it regardless of how much you eat! So those platefuls and platefuls you stuffed yourself with will only make you fatter, not help your fast. What does last longer, however, is QUALITY FOOD. If you fill up your plate with lean protein and simple carbs such as brown rice, buckwheat, fruits and vegetables, your body will digest and store that energy more efficiently, while providing you with that boost you need to make it through the fast.

What to stay away from? Foods like white bread, pasta, and desserts. These foods have loads of additive sugar and refined carbs that are bound to make your body feel sluggish and run down. Don't be fooled. They may make you feel energized right after consumption, but they will cause the infamous "sugar crash" a few hours into your fast.

So tomorrow, as you are preparing to cleanse yourself spiritually, make that step to cleanse your body as well. Make mindful decisions as you fill up your plate!

Have an EASY fast! Ktiva V'Chatima Tova!
