Quick reminder as a Gyn Onc: CA-125 is NOT a ‘just in case’ test.
It’s not meant for wellness checkups or general screening.
A high CA-125 doesn’t automatically mean cancer, and a normal CA-125 doesn’t rule it out.
This marker only makes sense when interpreted with symptoms, imaging, and clinical findings — not on its own.
CA-125 is valuable, but only in the right context.
We use it to monitor known cases, follow treatment, or evaluate specific symptoms — not to ‘look for cancer’ in healthy women.
