Can spinal Anaesthesia cause backache after a C-section ??

NO…
Spinal Anaesthesia is a type of anaesthesia where a thin needle (similar thickness of your hair) is inserted in your subarachnoid space and a medicine is injected in your cerebrospinal fluid. No bone is touched in this.

Backache post-delivery is usually due to poor posture during breast feeding, long feeding time, low levels of vitamin D3

Measures to reduce backache post childbirth:
🧿 Ensure your back is erect while breastfeeding.
Remember, bring the baby 👶🏻 to the breast and the other way round.
Invest in a good feeding pillow
🧿 Have a nutritious diet, take iron , calcium and vitamin D3 supplements.
🧿 Start back strengthening exercises 6 weeks post childbirth
🧿 Stay hydrated and Rest whenever you can

“Doctor, Can I have my tea/coffee ☕️ ?” This is the question many patients ask me in the OPD.
I would say “Sure”

But high caffeine intake is associated with increased risk of low birth weight baby and increased risk of pregnancy loss too. It also reduces the chances of getting pregnant.

Points to Remember:
📍 keep your daily caffeine intake less than 200 mg/day, that is 1-2 cups of coffee/tea here and there.
📍caffeine is also found in chocolate, soft drinks, energy drinks, soda, etc. so please read the label carefully before consuming them
📍for people opting for fertility treatments, it won’t harm if you could eliminate caffeine completely

☀️ High caffeine intake is discouraged during pregnancy and trying to conceive. Life style modifications play an important role in enhancing fertility.
