Myth: I will have bananas, I will be fat.

Banana is a fruit which is most easily available and easy on pocket.
But there is a myth attached aswell....it makes us fat.
Let's understand banana as a fruit.
Bananas are rich source of:
Potassium.
Carbohydrate
Fiber
Vitamin C
Vitamin B6
Magnesium.
Antioxidants.

It is helpful in:
* Managing our heart health.
* Managing Weight
* Managing depression
* High source of energy.

How it helps in managing depression:

Since bananas have good quantity of tryptophans, a form of essential amino acids which creates serotonin in our body which is a brain neuro transmitter and helps in elevating mood. So next time when you feel low,have a banana๐Ÿ™‚

How it manages weight:
Bananas do not directly help in loosing weight. But since the qualities it posses makes it a perfect food item to have when you are thinking to loose some inches.

*Bananas being sweet curbs our cravings.
*They are rich in fiber so aids metabolism.
One banana gives 10% of daily fiber requirement.
The fiber in it helps in constipation and bloating.

High source of energy:
As bananas contain good amount of carbohydrate ,they give instant energy.
Having a banana as a pre workout is better than sipping an energy sports drink.

Managing the heart:
Potassium in banans make it an excellent food for our hearts. It helps in pumping of blood.

Nutritious ,interesting food:

Many a times patients complain 'when we see nutritious food,we don't feel like eating', or sometimes some people also say 'it is difficult to have good quantity of such diet and also it is difficult to be consistent with it'.

What is the underlying fact...these patterns are the biggest reason why many of us dont stick to a healthy eating for a longer time .

And inconsistency can never give us the desired results.
The more practical solution is to make our food interesting...and believe me it's not a big science. Any of us can simply do it.
Nutritionally high value food can also look delicious and tempting.

Milk is an essential and a very popular beverage in India.
But I would rather like to call it a meal...a meal because of its tremendous nutritive value.
And what comes in our mind when we say milk....calcium.But its even more than that.

In Ayurveda,milk is defined as similar to "เค“เคœ"

To sum up,I will just explain it the best way...the ayurvedic way..
The qualities are:

1.'Swadu' - which means sweet taste ,which
Makes it tasty.

2.'Sheeta' - milk is an excellent coolant.

3. 'Mrudu'- its literal meaning is softness.milk
and it's products bring softness in
the body.
4. 'Snigdha'- which means oily.milk and its
products lubricates our body.

5.'Bahala'- It provides us the strength.

6. 'Shlakshna' which means it gives
smoothness to the body,hair.

7.' Pichila' - which has a literal meaning as
Sliminess.which aids in movement
of bowels.hence beneficial in
Constipation.

8.'Guru Manda'- these properties make milk an
excellent source for those who
Specially aim on increasing
some weight.

9.'Prasana'- Now this is so amazing.

Cucumber lemon detox water ....
When heat bothers us...all we want is some refreshing drinks...here is one.absolutely easy,quick to make and the ingredients are all local and readily available.

Recipe: 1.slice lemon and cucumber really thin.
2.Add both in 2litre water .
3.Add few small pieces of ginger .
Leave overnight or for 6 to 7 hours...
And here its' ready...fresh.

You can add ice and mint leaves or can have it just like that.
Can be sipped throughout the day.

Benefits :
1.very refreshing and soothing.
2 .cucumber is an excellent source of fibre,keeps the metabolism good and keep our blood sugar levels low.
3.cucumber is loaded with antioxidant properties .
4.lemon and cucumber both have excellent roles in weight loss....so those aiming on weight loss...give it a try.
5.lemon has adunbant of nutrients specially vitamin c.
6.lemon and mint both helps in bad breath .
Mint specially masks it.

Usually aereted drinks have artificial sweeteners, which obviously add on extra sugar load.
Extra sugar load which is bad for conditions like obesity,hypertension and other metabolic disorders...
So keep it simple.
Have water.....lemon can be added ,which has it's own benefits.
